WNBA, Players Prepare For Post-Season With Playoff Campaign

Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury gets intense in WNBA playoff spot.August 10, 2010: The WNBA 2010 regular season, its 14th campaign overall, is nearing its end, with the playoffs scheduled to begin on Aug. 25.

To support the post-season push, the league has unveiled a national multi-media campaign that will be anchored by a TV spot, "Everything We've Got." The spot, filmed mostly in black and white with hints of color, shows behind-the-scenes footage of players lacing up, taping up and gearing up for the game in the locker room, including coaches writing down strategic plays. It then moves to the building anticipation of players in the runways heading toward the court and a series of dynamic plays from around the league. The tag is "Expect great."

The spot broke on ESPN2 and will run continually during the WNBA playoffs and the WNBA Finals presented by adidas on ABC, ESPN2 and NBA TV. It also will air in arenas and on the Internet.

The WNBA conference finals are scheduled to begin Sept. 2 and conclude on Sept. 8 at the latest. The  WNBA Finals presented by adidas are scheduled to begin Set. 12, with a 2-2-1 best-of-five format.

All WNBA Playoff games will be televised nationally, with ESPN2 and ABC airing up to 10 games, including all contests during the WNBA Finals. NBA TV will also air up to 12 games as part of its conference semifinals and conference finals coverage.

In addition to adidas, WNBA marketing partners include EA Sports, PepsiCo's Gatorade, General Mills, HP, IHOP, Kia, Nike, T-Mobile and Taco Bell.
