‘Greatness’: Indiana Fever Marketing Puts Clark, Team Ambitions In Spotlight

By Barry Janoff

April 30, 2025: Proclaiming that “recent accomplishments are just the beginning,” the WNBA Indiana Fever have launched a multi-media marketing campaign entering the 2025 WNBA campaign “reaffirming Indiana as the epicenter of basketball and women’s sports” and the Fever as a team in “pursuit of greatness.”

The effort, “Now You Know,” features a heavy dose of WNBA 2024 Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark and 2023 Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston, as well as a revamped roster that now has players with “seven WNBA championships, 13 total All-Star selections, five All-Defensive team winners and four All-WNBA honorees,”

That includes veteran newcomers DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham.

Being re-added to the mix is Stephanie White as head coach, returning to a franchise for which she played (2000-04) and later helped lead to a WNBA title in 2012 as an assistant and the 2015 WNBA Finals as head coach.

“From the court to the culture, we own the moment,” offers a voiceover in the “Now You Know” anchor spot, which unabashedly offers the Indiana Fever aa a team “driven by passion, pride and the pursuit of greatness.

“We’re not here to chase greatness. We’re here to claim it. Our road games sound like home games because our fans don’t ask for permission to dominate. We’re here for the takeover.”

“Indiana and basketball have always been synonymous; it’s ingrained into our DNA and much of the sport’s history stems from our backyard,” Fever avp-marketing Shayna Sangster said via the team.

“This campaign is a nod to the fans, including our long-time supporters and those who are new to Fever, who show up and support this team in a record-breaking fashion.”

In addition to all-eyes on Clark’s anticipated sophomore season, the Fever will be the center of the WNBA world hosting the 2025 AT&T All-Star Game in Gainbridge Fieldhouse this July.

“On the heels of a record-setting season that captured the world’s attention, the ‘Now You Know’ campaign amplifies thecultural and basketball influence of our franchise, while also driving our ambition for more,” said Sangster.

“We are excited to celebrate our players and fans throughout the upcoming season and to continue being a torchbearer for our sport.”

Clark and the Fever certainly have had a seismic impact on the WNBA season.

No fewer than six teams have moved home games in which they host the Fever to larger venues due to ticket demand, including the Atlanta Dream, Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Dallas Wings, Las Vegas Aces and Washington Mystics.

Entering the franchise’s 26th season, the Fever will be featured in 41 nationally televised games, which the team said was the most in WNBA history.

A pre-season game on May 4 in which the Fever play the Brazilian National Team at Clark’s alma mater Univ. of Iowa will air on ESPN (4 PM ET)

The team’s season opener May 17 hosting Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky will air on ABC and ESPN.

With Clark, the Fever’s impact is being felt throughout the community and beyond.

In January, team owner Pacers Sports & Entertainment unveiled plans to build a $78 million exclusive sports performance center for the Indiana Fever in the heart of downtown Indianapolis.

Construction of the three-story, 108,000-square-foot, world-class training complex is expected to begin in August 2025 and open before the 2027 WNBA season.

In February, Pacers Sports & Entertainment and Hartbeat, the global entertainment company founded by Kevin Hart, formed a partnership to “deliver exciting, culture-driven experiences to Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever fans and the Indianapolis community.”

Hartbeat will serve as PS&E’s official “cultural curator,” creating live experiences and content for fans that blend basketball, music, comedy and culture.”

Hartbeat will work with PS&E to “bring a diverse range of entertainment opportunities to Gainbridge Fieldhouse and greater Indiana, including stand-up comedy, musical acts, half-time shows, festivals, scripted content and bespoke merchandise collaborations.”

All of this is candidly highlighted in the “Now You Know,” campaign.

“Now You Know, the Fever — from its players to its fanbase — are bigger than basketball. Now You Know, this isn’t a moment, it’s a movement and the Indiana Fever are here to stay.”
