• The NFL said today (Nov. 13) that it would move the Monday night game on Nov. 19  (ESPN) between the Kansas City Chiefs-Los Angeles Rams, originally scheduled for Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles.

According to the NFL, “The decision is based on the determination — in consultation with the NFLPA and following a meeting and field inspection this afternoon by NFL and club field experts as well as local and independent outside experts — that the playing field at Estadio Azteca does not meet NFL standards for playability and consistency and will not meet those standards by next Monday.”

• CBS said that Tim Tebow would be the host for its in-production reality series, Million Dollar Mile, from LeBron James’ Springhill Entertainment, Warner Bros. and  Fly on the Wall Entertainment. Commentators will be Maria Taylor and Matt Smith. The premise: A team wins $1 million if they can survive an obstacle course being built on real city streets.

• ESPN Events is adding a bowl game to its roster beginning in 2020, the Myrtle Beach Bowl. The game will feature teams from three conference partners: Conference USA, Mid-American Conference and Sun Belt Conference. Each conference will participate up to four times between 2020 and 2025. The Myrtle Beach Bowl will be played in Brooks Stadium, located on the campus of Coastal Carolina, nationally televised on ESPN networks.

• Between now and Nov. 19, every use of #SaluteToService on Twitter will generate a $5 donation, up to $5 million, to the NFL’s military non-profit partners – including the Pat Tillman Foundation, TAPS, USO, Wounded Warrior Project and the Bob Woodruff Foundation.

Vizio Charges Into College Football Playoff With Title Sponsorship Of Fiesta Bowl

October 29, 2014: Electronics firm Vizio, which from 2010-2014 was title sponsor of the Rose Bowl, remains part of the new College Football Playoff as the new title sponsor for the Fiesta Bowl, one of the "New Year's Six" Bowls in the system.

The 2014 Vizio Fiesta Bowl will be played on Dec. 31 in the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ, to air on ESPN.

The company also becomes title sponsor of the 2014 Vivzio Fiesta Bowl Fan Fest earlier that day on the Great Lawn at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The pact was handled by ESPN Events, a subsidiary of ESPN, which owns and operates a large portfolio of collegiate sporting events worldwide,

Vizio replaces Tostitos for the 44th Fiesta Bowl, which had been title sponsor since 1996.

Vizio will support the alliance with multimedia marketing, including TV, print, Internet, in-stadium signage and social media, the latter anchored by Vizio's Fandemonium Web site — VizioFanZone.com an online social community "created to gives fans the opportunity to rally together, share and express their enthusiasm for sports and other passion points." Among the activations will be a ticket sweepstakes that "will award one college football super fan with a VIP trip to the Vizio Fiesta Bowl." (Details not yet available.)

"As a proud supporter of college football on ESPN since 2006, we're excited to be a part of the inaugural season of the new playoff system as the title sponsor of the Fiesta Bowl," Lily Knowles, vp-product marketing for Vizio, said in a statement. "Football remains one of the most beloved shared entertainment experiences at home and because of this, Vizio keeps football top of mind as we design our TVs and audio products."

According to Ed Erhardt, President, ESPN global customer marketing and sales, "Vizio's Fiesta Bowl title sponsorship is a great extension of the brand's prior status as an official BCS Sponsor and title sponsor for the 2014 BCS National Championship Game and further illustrates their commitment to college football. With this expanded presence, Vizio will have exposure to and be engaged with passionate college football fans at the height of the College Football Playoff."

The College Football Playoff will rotate each year among six Bowls: the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, Vizio Fiesta Bowl, Capital One Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl Game Presented by Northwestern Mutual, Allstate Sugar Bowl and the Cotton Bowl. The championship game this season will be played in AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, on Jan. 12, 2015.
