Iga Świątek Signs With Visa: ‘Advance The Sport, Social Issues That Matter To Me’

August 17, 2023: Just ahead of the 2023 U.S. Open Grand Slam, Iga Świątek, the world’s No. 1-ranked women’s tennis player, has signed a multi-year deal with Visa.
Świątek said she plans to use the alliance to “advance the sport and social issues that matter the most to me.”
Financial terms of the pact were not released.
The alliance will also activate at the 2024 Paris Summer Games, where Świątek plans to represent her native Poland. Visa is a global partner with the IOC for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“The world has borne witness to the exceptional talent that Świątek showcased early in her career, and we are proud to welcome her to Team Visa and champion all that she stands for,” Frank Cooper III, Visa CMO, said via the company.
“Świątek is an example of what hard work and dedication can do to achieve your dreams, while inspiring the next generation.”
The four-time Grand Slam winner joins a global roster of Team Visa that has worked with some 500 athletes since 2000, including nearly three dozen women soccer players at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
“I started my career in tennis at a young age and even if I’m still learning, I’m trying to use my voice and become a role model for other young people,” said Świątek via Visa.
“Joining Team Visa with so many incredible athletes will help me continue to advocate for what’s important to me, advancing the sport and social issues that matter most to me.”
Over the past two years, she has been an outspoken supporter of Ukraine in its on-going conflict with Russia. She also is a strong advocate for supporting tennis players and all athletes regarding mental health issues.
Her deals also include On shoes and clothing, Porsche, Rolex, PZU Group financial institution, Oshee isotonic drinks and food products company based in Kraków and French sports equipment manufacturer Tecnifibre.
On the court, Świątek has earned more than $5 million on the Hologic WTA Tour this year (to date) and more than $19.7 million over her tennis career.
