• The NBA London Game 2019 will feature a regular-season game between the Washington Wizards and the New York Knicks in The O2 on Thursday, Jan. 17. Marketing partners include Foot Locker, Gatorade, Nike, SAP and Tissot, with additional partners to be unveiled in the coming months.

• The Denver Broncos home field is getting a temporary name change to Broncos Stadium at Mile High. It had been Sports Authority Field at Mile High, but the national sporting goods retailer, which had been based in Englewood, Col., ceased operations in July 2016. A search for a more permanent naming rights holder is currently underway.

• Per AP Sports: Burger King in Russia ran a promotion on social media offering a lifetime supply of Whoppers to any women who become pregnant by World Cup players. The offer was then deleted, In a statement Wednesday to AP, Burger King said, “We are sorry about the clearly offensive promotion that the team in Russia launched online. (It) does not reflect our brand or our values and we are taking steps to ensure this type of activity does not happen again.”

• The PGA TOUR has signed a deal with Facebook to distribute exclusive Saturday and Sunday live competition coverage, on a free basis, from eight tournaments leading into the FedExCup Playoffs for the 2017-18 season. Airing on Facebook Watch in the U.S., coverage begins at the Travelers Championship on June 23-24. Other events in 2018 include: Quicken Loans National; A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier; John Deere Classic; RBC Canadian Open; World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational; Wyndham Championship; and The Northern Trust.

What A Concept: U.S. Olympic Museum Moving Forward To Construction, Opening

May 18, 2015: The Olympics are held every two years, with the Summer and Winter Games taking alternating platforms.

The U.S. Olympic Committee plans to have an Olympic celebration every day.

After what it called "a rigorous and collaborative design process," the USOC has unveiled preliminary conceptual architecture and exhibit renderings for the United States Olympic Museum, currently scheduled for groundbreaking in Colorado Springs in Spring 2016, months before the Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, and then open in 2018 prior to the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

The USOC also said that museum officials have finalized a land gift agreement with Nor'wood Development Group, which donated 1.7 acres.

Organizers said that $42 million of a planned $80 million fund-raising campaign has been raised to date.

"The United States Olympic Museum will become one of the nation's must-see destinations, where visitors celebrate the achievements of our Olympic and Paralympic athletes and experience the effort and excitement of their journey," Richard Celeste, Museum Board president, said in a statement. "At this moment in our highly collaborative building and exhibit design process, we are proud to share an early look at the distinctive beauty of the museum and its state-of-the-art experiential exhibits."

"The Museum will become one of the nation's must-see destinations, where visitors celebrate the achievements of our Olympic and Paralympic athletes."

The 60,000-square-foot building will include 20,000 square feet of exhibit space, a state-of-the-art theater, gift shop, café and broadcast studio.

Experiential exhibitions are scheduled to include "Journey to Excellence" inspired by U.S. Olympians' and Paralympians' personal stories of work, commitment and sacrifice and the families and coaches behind their success; a Science and Technology Lab; "Athlete Training," where visitors can challenge themselves with hands-on training; and the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame.

The United States Olympic Museum will be built in the Southwest Urban Renewal District of Downtown Colorado Springs. Architectural design is being handled by Diller, Scofidio + Renfro, New York.
