Multi-Million-Dollar The Soccer Tournament Unveils Men’s, More Women’s Teams

April 22, 2025: The Soccer Tournamentn, which features a $1 million, winner-take-all bracket for men and a $1 million, winner-take-all bracket for women, today named the groups for its 48-team men’s event and 16-team women’s event.
The men’s and women’s tournaments will feature teams representing 13 countries and 12 European and North American professional teams.
Launched as an eight-team tournament in 2024, the women’s field has now doubled in size to 16 teams.
The event is scheduled for June 4-9 in WakeMed Soccer Park, Cary, NC.
RBC Wealth Management is the official tournament sponsor for TST 2025. RBC Wealth Management will also serve as the presenting sponsor of TST’s women’s event.
Partners also include adidas, Ally, Anheuser-Busch (Michelob Ultra), Carry NC, Chevrolet, Coca-Cola, Hyperice and Verizon.
“TST soccer is electrifying,” CEO Jon Mugar said via TST. “Our goal is to become the preeminent soccer festival in the world. Judging by the number of returning fans and teams, we are well on our way.
“We have doubled the size of the women’s field and a record 64 teams will compete in Cary. I can’t wait to see the level of competition this June!”
Both the men’s and women’s events will conclude in a winner-take-all championship doubleheader on June 9 on ESPNU and ESPN+, when a total of $2 million in prize money awarded.
ESPN renewed its deal with The Soccer Tournament earlier this year.
ESPN+ will carry 27 men’s and women’s matches live, with 20 matches also available on ESPNU.
All non-ESPN games will air live on TST’s YouTube channel. For those watching internationally, all 134 matches will be shown on YouTube as well.

The Soccer Tournament Festival Experience at WakeMed Soccer Park will feature music, food, games and exclusive meet-and-greets over six days.
U.S. Women’s National Team stars Carli Lloyd, Ali Krieger, Heather O’Reilly and Michelle Akers are scheduled to headline the Women’s Meet & Greet presented by RBC Wealth Management June 7.
New club additions to this year’s men’s field include English Premier League’s AFC Bournemouth, La Liga’s Atlético de Madrid, Liga MX’s Club América, and English Championship’s Plymouth Argyle.
After appearing in TST’s inaugural event in 2023, English Premier League club West Ham United will return to the men’s field.
The women’s tournament will feature defending champions US Women, who added U.S. Women’s National Team legend Lloyd to a roster that includes her former teammates Krieger and O’Reilly.
This year’s women’s field will also feature Solo FC, organized by former USWNT goalkeeper and World Cup winner Hope Solo, who will also play on the team.
Returning teams from TST’s 2024 women’s field include entries from NWSL clubs Angel City FC and NC Courage. NWSL’s KC Current will send their second team, KC Current II.
The Wrexham Red Dragons will be the only pro club represented in both the men’s and women’s events.
