The Hartford Builds MLB Alliance, Doubling Number Of Teams On Partnership Roster

March 28, 2016: To help ensure growth in the second year of its official alliance with Major League Baseball, The Hartford has added five teams to its roster, bringing its total of number of MLB teams to ten.

The Hartford, which signed last season as the exclusive business insurance, homeowners’ insurance and employee benefits partner of MLB, this week signed alliances with  the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Colorado Rockies, Minnesota Twins and Pittsburgh Pirates.

The insurance firm already has deals with the defending World Series champion Kansas City Royals, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers.

The company plans to support its team alliances with multi-media efforts including print, Internet, social media and in-stadium activations, as well as local clinics and events.

The Hartford's MLB-wide support is anchored by presenting sponsorship of the Mariano Rivera American League Reliever of the Year and Trevor Hoffman National League Reliever of the Year Awards.

The two former MLB players serve as brand ambassadors for the company in multi-platform efforts.

“Expanding our relationship with MLB increases the visibility of The Hartford's brand and the commitment we make to our customers."

“The activation of our sponsorship revolves around the role that relief pitchers and closers play in the game. Teams rely on them to help them prevail when the game is on the line, just as our customers rely on us to help them prevail when the unexpected happens," said Bromage.

In February, The Hartford extended its status with the U.S. Olympic Committee as the "official disability insurance sponsor of U.S. Paralympics" through 2020.
