Samsung Becomes Official Partner Of IAAF

May 20, 2009: Samsung Electronics said it has signed a three-year deal to become an official partner of International Association of Athletics Federations, the world governing body for track and field. Financial terms were not disclosed. The alliance also makes the IAAF's official equipment provider in the categories of mobile telecommunications hardware, audio visual equipment, cameras and household appliances. The marketing partnership includes the World Championships in Berlin in August; the 2010 World Indoor Championships in Doha, Qatar; the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea and the IAAF Continental and National Championships programs during the three year agreement. "We are delighted to welcome the IAAF to our elite roster of global sports marketing partners," Gregory Lee, CMO of global marketing operations, Samsung Electronics, said in a statement. "Athletics help to unify cultures and inspire new levels of personal achievement - the very qualities that Samsung seeks to realize in our constant pursuit of innovation and passion for excellence."
