The store, located in the Chicago State Street development  at the corner of North State and Randolph, joins the original store on North Rush Street as Chicago locations. Puma also has a retail location in the Woodfield Shopping Center in Schaumburg, Illinois.

The store will also house essential Puma collections such as Puma Archive and Puma Denim.

Puma said it would follow the opening with a celebration on Dec. 1 that would such in-store events as " sweets, prizes, and other goodies," as well as local athletes and performers. These "employees" will donate their "wages" to the charitable foundation formed by the Chicago Red Stars' Women's Professional Soccer team, which will have representatives at the store. Chicago's Jump Smokers are scheduled to performing 7-8PM.

“We felt that now was the right time to open a brand store that spoke to everything that Puma stands for,” Jay Piccola, President and GM of Puma North America, said in a statement. “During these tough economic times, the brands that stay true to themselves are the ones that will survive. Now more than ever, it’s important for PUMA to showcase the best of the brand to the world.”

Added Jeff Dunn, Puma North America’s vp-retail, “We chose Chicago and State Street because of its location, the city culture, and the local community known for their love of shopping, sports, creativity, and innovation. We feel that this will be a great home for Puma, and a place the local Chicago consumer will truly embrace.”
