New York Life Expands Platform With MLB, Begins Alliance With U.S. Soccer

By Barry Janoff

February 21, 2024: In a double-header of activation, New York Life Insurance Co. has expanded its platform with MLB and Little League Baseball and, separately, has launched a multi-level alliance with U.S. Soccer.

New York Life, MLB and Little League International said New York Life is boosting its long-term commitment to baseball and youth sports to become the official financial guidance partner for MLB.

This multi-year partnership “aims to build deeper connections with fans and families — and make a lasting impact on the communities we serve.”

Beginning this year, New York Life will become the presenting sponsor of the National First Game Certificate Program and a sponsor of MLB at Rickwood Field (June 24), hosted at the oldest professional ballpark in the U.S. and former home of the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro Leagues.

As part of the multi-year partnership, New York Life becomes an official sponsor of Little League and the Little League World Series, as well as the presenting sponsor of the MLB Little League Classic held each August in Williamsport, PA.

Together, according to New York Life and MLB, they will “host exclusive fan engagement events, offer giveaways, celebrate our communities, and support the growth of the game at the youth level.”

“Baseball has always been more than just a game – our sport is an experience for millions of fans that creates core memories, especially for young people,” Noah Garden, MLB deputy commissioner, business and media, said via the league.

“We are proud to partner with New York Life, a company that understands the importance of family and making a positive impact on communities.”

Concurrently, New York Life and U.S. Soccer have signed a multi-year partnership that will make New York Life the federation’s official life insurance partner.

As part of the pact, beginning this year, New York Life becomes the presenting partner of the federation’s Coach for Community program and U.S. Youth Soccer’s National Championship Series.

In addition, the company will support the SheBelieves Cup, presented by Visa and SheBelieves Summit, presented by Deloitte, now in its ninth year.

New York Life will also be the presenting partner of U.S. Youth Soccer’s National Championship Series, with resources and events focused on developing sound decision-making among young players and their families.

“New York Life and U.S. Soccer have a deep commitment to building strong communities, especially those that are underserved,” Amy Hu, New York Life CMO, said via the firm.

“This partnership is an exciting opportunity to deepen agent relationships and highlight the importance of building a secure future.”
