Buffalo Bills, Terrell Owens Get Featured Role In NFL Pre-Season

June 26, 2009: Are you ready for some football training camps? And are you ready to see Terrell Owens in a Buffalo Bills uniform. If so, the NFL satisfied your football Jones on June 26 by releasing the complete schedule and location of all 32 teams.

The first camp to open will be the Buffalo Bills on July 25, when both rookies and veterans have to report to St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, NY. That will grab a lot of national media attention as it is expected to mark the first appearance of Terrell Owens. Another milestone date could be July 30, when rookies and veterans for the Minnesota Vikings are scheduled to report to Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minn. Depending on situations that transcend between now and then, that could be the first appearance of Brett Farve with the Vikings. The latest opening date is Aug. 2, when rookies and veterans of the New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars and Caroline Panthers are scheduled to report to their respective training camps.

Buffalo and the Tennessee Titans will open the pre-season on Aug. 9 at the Pro Football Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 PM ET and will be televised nationally by NBC. The game marks the first of events the NFL will pay tribute to the American Football League’s 50th anniversary season throughout the year. The Titans (which began as the Houston Oilers) and the Bills were charter members of the AFL. That also may or may not be the first game with Owens in a Bills uniform, but the day definitely will feature the induction of the Class of 2009 into the Hall of Fame: Bruce Smith, Rod Woodson, Bob Hayes, Randall McDaniel, Derrick Thomas and Ralph Wilson Jr.

Aug. 13-17 marks the first pre-season weekend, with NFL Kickoff weekend coming Sept. 10-14, including Tennessee at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 10 (NBC) and a double-header on Sept. 14 (Bills at New England, San Diego at Oakland, both on ESPN), all teams that began in the AFL. Back to Home Page
