November 11, 2022: The NFL is supporting its Salute to Service platform during games through Week 11 (Nov. 17-21) with multi-level activation, including on-field with field stencils, banners, goal post wraps, game balls, helmet decals and New Era and Nike gear (available for purchase at NFLShop.com and in stadium retail stores).
TV spots honoring veterans, service members and their families who have benefited from the NFL's Salute to Service funding of partners feature George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers), Damien Harris (New England Patriots), Elijah Moore (New York Jets), Cam Jordan (New Orleans Saints), Tarron Jackson (Philadelphia Eagles) and head coach Ron Rivera (Washington Commanders).
In honor of Veterans Day (Nov. 11), Fox NFL Sunday on Nov. 13 will broadcast live from Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar with a two-hour show (11 AM ET) to “continue its longstanding tradition of broadcasting from a military installation to honor men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces.”
Qatar is also the site for the FIFA World Cup, beginning Nov. 20, to air on Fox platforms.
“We are grateful to continue our longstanding tradition of honoring our armed forces through our Fox NFL Sunday broadcast from the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar and in all we do,” Eric Shanks, CEO and executive producer, Fox Sports, said via the network.
“Fox Sports’ commitment to our military takes inspiration from our servicemen and women who epitomize bravery and sacrifice.”
People for the first time can be part of the voting for the Salute To Service Award presented by USAA, which recognizes NFL players, coaches, staff and alumni with demonstrable commitment to honoring and supporting military and veteran communities, as nominated by NFL clubs.
The finalists will be named in January, and the recipient will be recognized at NFL Honors, a primetime awards special to air nationally in February during the week of Super Bowl LVII. (Vote here.)
USAA will contribute $25,000 in the recipient's name to official aid societies representing all U.S. military branches. The NFL will match USAA's contribution by donating an additional $25,000 to the awardee's military or veteran charity of choice.
NBC Sports Next, a division of NBC, will help generate funds for Salute to Service partners for a second year through its "Round-Up" campaign throughout November.
Anyone booking tee times on GolfNow or TeeOff in November will be provided the opportunity to round up the total cost of the reservation to an even-dollar figure, with the additional contribution going to Salute to Service partners.
The NFL said that since 2011, more than $58 million has been raised for its Salute to Service partners, including the Pat Tillman Foundation, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, United Service Organizations, Bob Woodruff Foundation and Wounded Warrior Project.
