Brazil Bash: NFL Fan Fest, Eagles Watch Party Support First Game In South America

August 7, 2024: The NFL is heading to Brazil and South America this season for the first time and plans to party as if it wants to return for many years to come.
The league said it would officially touch down in Parque Villa Lobos, in the city of São Paulo, to celebrate the first game in NFL history in South America with NFL Experience, a free three-day fan festival.
The event begins game day Sept. 6 — when the Green Bay Packers play the Philadelphia Eagles (8:15 PM ET Peacock) — thru the 2024 NFL Kickoff weekend.
(Within each team’s local region, the game will be shown live on NBC10 Philadelphia, NBC 6 Green Bay and TMJ4 Milwaukee.)
Attendees can watch the game from within the NFL Experience. Additional watch parties in São Paulo will showcase Week 1 NFL games airing in the afternoon of Sept. 8.
Although the event is free, NFL OnePass app registration is required for entry into the NFL Experience.
“Hosting an NFL game in São Paulo reinforces our city as one of the main destinations for great world events," São Paulo mayor Ricardo Nunes said via the league. “To welcome the NFL, we have prepared a unique experience for all fans to feel the excitement and adrenaline of the games.
"We are thrilled to partner with the league on the NFL Experience, free and available to all Paulistanos — an initiative generating employment and economic impact for the city."
According to the NFL, “Brazil is an important global market for the NFL, with more than 38 million fans of the game — 8.3 million of those being 'avid' fans — the second largest international fan base after Mexico.”
“This landmark first international game in South America demonstrates the ongoing expansion of our global footprint," NFL commissioner Roger Goodel said via the league when the game was unveiled this past February.
“Playing on Friday night of Week 1 is a unique way to highlight our international growth and ambitions."
The Eagles are planning their own fan fest, offering people the opportunity towatch the game live while seated in the team’s home venue, Lincoln Financial Field.
The team said the Eagles Season Kickoff Watch Party presented by Bud Light would offer “a game-day-like atmosphere.”
The event includes large LED screens; Brazilian menu offerings with a Philly twist; live performances by the Eagles Cheerleaders, Drumline, and DJ Diamond Kuts; autograph signings with Eagles Legends; and a halftime drone show, presented by Ricoh, according to the team.
Tickets for the general public: $30 for the lower bowl; $35 for the club level, $50 for pregame field and locker room access. (Details here.)
At NFL Experience in Brazil, people will be able to can take photos at various exhibits, including with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, all 58 Super Bowl rings, NFL helmets and a new “Born to Play” gallery showcasing the “faces and places moving (American) football forward across diverse regions of Brazil” by Brazilian photographer Luisa Dorr.
Activations from the Eagles and Packers, as well as the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots — which hold marketing rights across Brazil via the NFL's Global Markets Program — will be part of the weekend at NFL Experience.
NFL Experience attendees will also be able to purchase exclusive game merchandise onsite at NFL Shop presented by Visa.
Additional NFL Shop presented by Visa stores are open throughout the region, with six retail locations across São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. All locations are operated by Fanatics.
“The NFL is taking over the city of São Paulo for the first-ever game in Brazil, providing a thrilling experience for fans," Gerrit Meier, managing director, NFL International, said via the league.
“We want to extend our thanks to Mayor Nunes and São Paulo Turismo for welcoming the league to this amazing city and such an iconic location. This will be an action-packed and monumental NFL-filled weekend."
The game in São Paulo will be one of five regular season games to be played internationally in 2024. Three games will be played in London: two at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the third a Jacksonville Jaguars home game at Wembley Stadium as part of their partnership.
The fifth game will see the NFL back in Germany for a third consecutive year, returning to Allianz Arena in Munich.
