May 16, 2024: Both ESPN and NBC have added enhancements for 2024 to their respective Monday Night Football and Sunday Night Football broadcasts.
ESPN’s 2024-25 NFL schedule will feature 25 games, with 21 Monday Night Football match-ups, the return of the Week 18 Doubleheader Saturday, a Monday night Super Wild Card and Divisional playoff game.
Schedule enhancements return, including ABC exclusive games and simulcasts, an ESPN+ exclusive game, multiple Monday Night Football games on the same night and flex scheduling.
The ESPN+ exclusive game shifting to a Monday night is Week 7, Chargers at Cardinals (Oct. 21 9 PM ET).
Three ABC exclusive games on Mondays are in Weeks 3, 4, 7, and 15.
The four Monday Night Football simulcasts are:
• Week 1: Jets-49ers
• Week 8: Giants-Steelers
• Week 14: Bengals-Cowboys
• Week 17: Lions-49ers
Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Lisa Salters return for their third season of Monday Night Football.
Buck and Aikman are together for a 23rd season overall, extending their record as the longest broadcast pairing in NFL history.
Salters enters her 13th season on Monday Night Football sidelines, the longest-tenured sideline reporter in its history, according to ESPN.
Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli returns for a fourth season, adding an 11th game to their schedule, which will begin in Week 1.
The remaining schedule will be unveiled before the start of the season.
ESPN and Omaha Productions signed a new contract extension in April, extending the Mannings through the current rights deal.
A Spanish-language telecast will be available for each game via ESPN Deportes.
ESPN will begin the 2024-25 season with the Hall of Fame pre -eason game, featuring the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans (Thursday, Aug. 1, 8 PM ET).
The game will be simulcast on ABC, with the Spanish-language telecast on ESPN Deportes.
Buck, Aikman and Salters will call the game from Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
NBC Sunday Night Football has America’s No. 1 prime time TV show for an on-going record 13 consecutive years.
The Sunday Night Football announce team of Mike Tirico, Cris Collinsworth, and Melissa Stark returns for their third season together.
NBC’s NFL schedule this season features four appearances by the two-time defending Super Bowl-champion Kansas City Chiefs; and three appearances apiece by the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers (including in Sao Paolo and on Thanksgiving night) and Houston Texans.
NBC Sports has acquired an additional NFL regular-season game on Saturday, Dec. 21, to be presented across NBC, Peacock and Telemundo,
In addition, the NFL Kickoff game (Sept. 5) will feature a rematch of the AFC Championship Game, when the Chiefs host Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
The extra game on NBC Sports’ schedule will be an afternoon match-up on Dec. 21.
NFL flexible scheduling procedures allow for up to two changes to the schedule from Week Five to Week 10.
The league can change any games from Week 11 to Week 17, although the moves must be made no later than 12 days in advance and after consultation with broadcasters.
The Week 18 match-up is determined after Week 17’s games have been played.
