NBCU Deal Will Bring Peacock To Bars, Restaurants Nationwide Via NFL Company

By Barry Janoff

August 11, 2023: NBCUniversal has signed a multi-year deal under which EverPass Media will hold exclusive rights to distribute Peacock’s exclusive sports content to commercial establishments across the U.S., including bars, restaurants and other venues.

Peacock Sports Pass programming will include the NFL, college sports, soccer, golf, IndyCar and horse racing.

In March, 32 Equity, the strategic investment arm of the NFL, and RedBird Capital Partners launched EverPass Media, a platform distributing premium live sports and entertainment content to commercial businesses,

In May EverPass Media signed a multi-year agreement making DirecTV for Business a non-exclusive provider of NFL Sunday Ticket for commercial locations nationwide to more than 300,000 bars, restaurants and other commercial establishments across the U.S., starting with the 2023 NFL season.

Financial terms of the NBC-EverPass deal were not shared.

“This partnership will enable us to now offer our content via a compelling commercial sports product,” Rick Cordella, president, programming, NBC Sports and Peacock Sports, said via the company.

“We’re excited to work with the EverPass team to bring fans more viewing opportunities and business owners ease and simplicity in streaming our best-in-class offerings.”

NBCU said EverPass would distribute Peacock’s exclusive first-run live sports content menu, including the Buffalo Bills at Los Angeles Chargers (Dec. 23, 2023) and the NFL Wild Card Playoff game on Jan. 13, 2024, which will be the first exclusively live-streamed playoff game in NFL history.

EverPass will also distribute Peacock events including Premier League matches, college sports (Big Ten College Football, Big Ten men’s and women’s basketball, and a Notre Dame football game), U.S. Women’s National Team and U.S. Men’s National Team matches (both in Spanish), golf (featured groups and holes for the Ryder Cup, the U.S. Open and the U.S. Women’s Open and Open Championship), IndyCar, Preakness Stakes, Tour de France, SuperMotocross World Championship  and the 2023 Rugby World Cup and Six Nations Rugby.

“Peacock has one of the most extensive live sports offerings of any streamer in the U.S. and this exclusive agreement for the commercial distribution of its sports programming is an important milestone for EverPass,”  Alex Kaplan, EverPass Media CEO, said via the platform.

“Peacock’s exclusive sports events will now become widely available for commercial businesses, creating new opportunities to expand the reach of these events. We’re excited to continue building our content library and network of distribution partners to become the preeminent premium sports and entertainment content platform for commercial establishments.”
