NBALab, Chewy Create Canine Couture To Take A Walk Beyond The NBA Court

By Barry Janoff

December 15, 2025: Who let the dogs out? Now we know.

From the people who recently gave you the NBA fashion mash-up Duck Band Tape Collection and Duck Brand Paper Collection now comes another unique offering, with NBALab joining with Chewy to launch “Hoop Dogs.”

The apparel is being called a “first-of-its-kind collection created for the rapidly growing community of NBA fans who are equally passionate about their pets and their teams.”

According to NBALab, ”The collaboration features a full suite of officially licensed T-shirts across all 30 NBA teams, each presented in four distinct designs.”

Initial breeds include Bulldogs, Dachshunds, French Bullldogs, German Shepards and Pit Bulls.

They will be sold exclusively on Chewy.com, with additional breeds, designs and future releases planned.

“This collection fuses bold, officially licensed NBA style with street-savvy design made for the humans behind the hounds,” Billi Kid, co-founder of NBALab, said via the organization.

“Because when passion runs deep, your dog isn’t just your best friend — they’re your teammate.”

NBALab is the research and development incubator focused on innovative design, imaginative concepts and strategic partnerships. It was founded in 2015 to facilitate product expansion for the NBA’s Global Licensing Group.

According to NBALab and Chewy, “The collection celebrates the idea that, for many fans, their dog is part of their starting lineup. It recognizes the way people build rituals around both their teams and their pets, and gives them a new way to showcase that identity.

This marks the first time an NBA partner has created apparel specifically aimed at fans who express who they are through both their pets and their favorite teams.

The Hoop Dogs range features multiple dog breeds illustrated with distinct poses, expressions and details that mirror real fan behavior: pre-game swagger, post-win energy and the everyday confidence of repping your team.

Key features include a variety of breed- and team-inspired combinations “so fans can find “their dog”;  and graphics that work styled up with streetwear or down with casual basics.

The collection is positioned as a giftable, highly shareable concept for pet parents, couples, families and friends who bond over both sports and animals.

Fits and silhouettes were designed for everyday wear, not just game nights.
