Mahomes Celebrates In Disneyland In First Post-Super Bowl Ad, Talks Three-Peat

February 12, 2024: Patrick Mahomes helped the Kansas City Chiefs to their second consecutive Super Bowl, then helped his family make it to Disneyland.
Even as the Chiefs were celebrating their 25-22 OT win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on the field in Allegiant Stadium, the QB and game MVP was asked, “You and the Kansas City Chiefs just won the Super Bowl. What are you going to do next?”
Mahomes, standing with his wife Brittany and their two children, shouted, “We're going to Disneyland!”
This is the third time the Chiefs’ star has been featured in the post-game’s first commercial, coinciding with the three times Mahomes was Super Bowl MVP (Super Bowl LVII, Super Bowl LIV) and chosen to attend a Disney theme park the next day.
The 30-second spot plays shows Mahomes and the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII action, played out to “When You Wish Upon a Star,” with Patrick and Brittany stating out their Disneyland plans.
Today, Mahomes and family made the trip from Vegas to Anaheim, Calif., where he stood front-and-center on a float going down Main Street USA, with Minnie Mouse on one side of him Mickey Mouse on the other.
The parade was fronted by a banner that read, “Disneyland Presents Super Bowl LVIII Champions.”
"If you plan on being in the park, you might see Mahomes enjoying the day while experiencing some of the park’s signature attractions,” according to the Disney Parks Blog.
“He will also be featured in a cavalcade with some of your favorite Disney characters so be sure to join the celebration on the parade route from 'it’s a small world' all the way down to Main Street U.S.A."
With the Chiefs already proclaiming they plan to work next NFL season for an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat, Mahomes could again be back in “The Happiest Place on Earth.”
“Legendary," Mahomes said about winning three consecutive Super Bowls during a media conference in Las Vegas today before heading to California.
“No one's ever done it, and we knew it's legendary to win back-to-back. I think eight other teams have done it. We had heard it all week. We had talked to the guys (who had won consecutive Super Bowls) about it, and we felt like we had the best opportunity that we had ever had to go out there and do that.
"We've got to continue to play our best football. We'll celebrate these next few weeks, and then we'll get right back at it."
According to the NFL, Mahomes is the third player ever to win three Super Bowl MVP awards, joining Tom Brady (five) and Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Montana (three).
He is the third player to be named Super Bowl MVP in consecutive seasons, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers Bart Starr (Super Bowls I and II) and Terry Bradshaw (Super Bowls XIII and XIV).
Mahomes is the fifth quarterback with at least three Super Bowl titles, joining Brady (seven) as well as Pro Football Hall of Famers Bradshaw (four), Montana (four) and Troy Aikman (three).
It marks the 33rd time that a quarterback has been named Super Bowl Most Valuable Player. Mahomes recorded his 15th career post-season win, trailing only Brady (35) and Montana (16) for the most post-season wins by a quarterback all-time.
The "I'm going to Disney!" tradition began at Super Bowl XXI in 1987, with New York Giants' quarterback and game MVP Phil Simms proclaiming he was "gonna go to Disney World."
