Swift Move: NBA Adds MrBeast To Vast Array Of Jersey Patch Deals For 2023-24

UPDATED November 20, 2023: The Atlanta Hawks and the YMCA of Metro Atlanta have signed a multiyear partnership including the YMCA as the Hawks’ official jersey patch partner.
The Y’ wordmark will be featured on all Hawks uniforms as well as the College Park Skyhawks and the physical uniforms of Hawks Talon GC, the organization’s NBA G League and NBA 2K League affiliates, respectively.
Still TBD: Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers.

UPDATED Oct. 24, 2023: Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. has unveiled a partnership with Sphere Entertainment Co., naming Sphere, the entertainment venue that opened last month in Las Vegas, the official jersey patch partner of the New York Knicks.

Hornets Sports & Entertainment today unveiled what it called a “groundbreaking, first-of-its-kind partnership” with Feastables, a snack brand founded by YouTube influencer Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson.
The alliance designates the company as the “official jersey patch partner” of the Charlotte Hornets. (See full NBA list below.)
Under the deal, the Feastables logo will appear on all Hornets uniforms, as well as the uniforms of the Greensboro Swarm and both the virtual and physical uniforms of Hornets Venom GT, the organization’s NBA G League and NBA 2K League affiliates, respectively.

The partnership will see Feastables branding on the media backdrops for all Hornets press conferences and interviews. The two brands will also collaborate on digital media, content and marketing opportunities.
According to Hornets Sports & Entertainment, “Donaldson, a native of Greenville, NC, is believed to have the most subscriptions of any individual on YouTube, TikTok, X and Instagram — more than 350 million combined followers.”
At the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, 26 of the league’s 30 teams had jersey patch deals (the New York Knicks, Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers and Washington Wizards did not) and nine of those deals were up for renewal.
Jersey patches deals, with began with the 2017 season, average between $7-$10 million per year over three-four years, according to industry analysts.
At the high end, the Brooklyn Nets have a $30 million annual jersey patch deal with Webull and the Golden State Warriors have a $20 million yearly deal with Rakuten.
The Knicks are said to be asking $30 million annually for a jersey patch deal, according to industry analysts.
Even with his reach, MrBeast might not have the most high-profile jersey patch this season.
In June 2022, the San Antonio Spurs signed a multi-year jersey patch partnership with Self Financial, a credit building financial technology company based in Austin, Texas. As a part of the deal, the Spurs will acquire an equity stake in the company.
This past June, the Spurs drafted Victor Wembanyama with the overall No. 1 pick.
The highly touted rookie and the Spurs are scheduled to be featured in a nationally televised game to begin ESPN’s season coverage on Oct. 25, four nationally televised games during the In-Season Tournament, on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and twice during the second annual NBA Rivals Week.
In all, Wembanyama and the Spurs are currently scheduled to be featured in 19 nationally televised games this season (not counting possible In-Season Tournament playoff games) across ESPN/ABC, TNT and NBA TV.
ESPN and the NBA said Wembanyama’s first game with the San Antonio Spurs on July 7 was the second most-watched game in NBA Summer League history with 1.39 million viewers on ESPN.
It was topped only by Zion Williamson’s Summer League debut July 5, 2019 as the most-watched Summer League game on record (New Orleans Pelicans vs. New York Knicks: 1.61 million).
New jersey sponsorship deals entering the 2023-24 season also include the Miami Heat and Carnival Cruise Line, with the Carnival Cruise Line patch to appear on all Heat jerseys including the Association, Icon, Statement and City Edition Uniforms.
In addition, LiveView Technologies, an American Fork, UT-based safety and security technology company, was just named Thursday as the new jersey patch sponsor of the Utah Jazz.
The multiyear agreement between will see the “LVT” patch will appear on all Jazz jerseys beginning with the coming 2023–24 NBA season. For the previous six seasons, Qualtrics — a company co-founded by Jazz owner Ryan Smith — served as the Jazz’s patch sponsor.
