December 15, 2018: MLB is planning a trip to London in June with the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, and is taking Fox and ESPN along for the ride.

The Mitel & MLB Present London Series 2019 is scheduled for June 29-30 in London Stadium, the first official MLB games to be played in Europe.

MLB said that Fox Sports and ESPN will each air games in the U.S., with Fox Sports presenting the exclusive broadcast on Saturday, June 29; and ESPN producing the exclusive telecast on Sunday, June 30.

The first pitch for June 29 s scheduled for 1:10 PM (ET). The June 30 start time is 10:10 AM (ET.)

“In our on-going efforts to grow baseball, there is nothing as impactful as bringing live games and our talented players to fans,” MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said during a media conference in London in May. “This is our most significant endeavor ever in Europe and we look forward to showcasing Major League Baseball in one of the world's great cities."

"Major League Baseball is excited to be bringing one of the most storied rivalries in sports to the passionate fans of London.”

London Stadium, the site of the 2012 Olympic Games, will take on a baseball configuration when Mitel & MLB Present London Series 2019 and then again in 2020.

The estimated capacity of London Stadium for the series will be 57,000.

MLB has already established multi-media marketing support, including an intro spot, social media destinations (via @MLBLondonSeries) on Instagram and Facebook, as well as a dedicated Web site for information, news and MLB London Series tickets.

Fox’s Saturday Game of the Week lead broadcast team will call the June 29 game on-site, including Joe Buck, analyst John Smoltz and reporter Ken Rosenthal.

ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball team will call the June 30 game on-site, including Matt Vasgersian, analysts Alex Rodriguez and Jessica Mendoza and reporter Buster Olney.

The U.K. will join other international venues that have hosted regular season MLB games, including Mexico, Japan and Australia, as well as Puerto Rico.

Fox Sports last month extended its rights agreement with MLB.

Last season, Fox Sports provided extensive coverage of MLB's International Series games in Mexico and Puerto Rico.

ESPN has participated and collaborated in presentations of such special international MLB events as an MLB exhibition game in Cuba and regular-season games in Mexico, as well as Puerto Rico.
