‘Guests In My Corn’: MLB At Field of Dreams Returns In ’26 With Phillies-Twins

November 19, 2025: As Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) says in Field of Dreams, “This is my corn. You people are guests in my corn.”

In conjunction with the signing of $2.4 billion in media deals with ESPN, NBC and Netflix, MLB unveiled jewel events for 2026, including a return to Dyersvile, IA for MLB at Field of Dreams.

MLB at Field of Dreams is scheduled for Aug. 13, with the Minnesota Twins “hosting” the Philadelphia Phillies. It is being played in the 8,000-capacity venue built specifically for MLB adjacent to the field that was the location to the 1989 Field of Dreams movie.

The game will air on Netflix under MLB’s new media realignment.

Netflix will also open the MLB season the next three years with a singular game on Opening Night, the evening prior to a full slate of traditional Opening Day games; as well as the T-Mobile Home Run Derby the evening prior the All-Star Game. 

MLB at Field of Dreams was played in 2021 (New York Yankees-Chicago White Sox) and 2022 (Cincinnati Reds-Chicago Cubs) before it was closed for renovation and expansion.

“Major League Baseball is excited to return to Iowa in 2026 and to deliver a unique experience to the Twins, the Phillies, their players, our two Minor League teams, and fans across the game," commissioner Rob Manfred said via MLB. “We look forward to working with Netflix and creating an event that all sports fans can enjoy.”

In addition to the MLB game, the site is scheduled to host a game between Triple-A St. Paul and Iowa, Minor League affiliates of the Twins and Cubs, respectively, on Aug. 11.

MLB at Field of Dreams and other events this are to generate at least $40 million in local economic activity, including $9 million from the MLB event, Keith Rahe, Travel Dubuque president and CEO, which includes the Field of Dreams site, said during a media event.

This year’s game is a Twins home game, the opener of a three-game series between the clubs. The teams will have an off-day on Friday before resuming the series at Target Field on Saturday.

“The Minnesota Twins are thrilled to be playing in the return of MLB at Field of Dreams,” Twins executive chair Joe Pohlad said via the team. “Taking the field in Dyersville, where so much of baseball’s magic comes alive, is special for our club and for our fans in Iowa. August 13, 2026, will be a true celebration of our sport and a memorable day in Twins history.”

Phillies managing partner and CEO John Middleton said via MLB, “It is an honor to have been selected for the return of the prestigious MLB at Field of Dreams game.

“For our players, this will be an experience they never forget as they step onto the set of one of the most iconic baseball movies ever made.”

A private partnership called Go the Distance Baseball acquired the site from the owners in December 2012. In September 2021, Go the Distance Baseball sold controlling interest to a group headed by Baseball Hall of Famer Frank Thomas.

Since them, plans include or will include an “authentically Iowan professional ballpark,” an attached museum and an event enter to host pro sports, concerts, cultural events, educational programs and community celebrations.

There is also a youth complex for baseball softball, miracle league teams and others.

A concert scheduled for Labor Day weekend is scheduled to feature Shinedown, Carrie Underwood and Creed. That event is expected to generate at least $15 million in economic activity for the area, according to Rahe.

“Iowa is thrilled to welcome MLB and its players back to the iconic Field of Dreams and a new permanent stadium for one of America's favorite baseball traditions,” Iowa governor Kim Reynolds said via MLB.

“Set against a backdrop of rolling cornfields and a star-filled summer sky, this is an event unlike any other. We’re incredibly proud to host fans from across the country and around the world for a game they’ll never forget and an opportunity to experience everything that makes our state so special.”

MLB played MLB at Rickwood Field: A Tribute to the Negro Leagues in Alabama in 2024 and last summer’s MLB Speedway Classic presented by BuildSubmarines.com at Bristol Motor Speedway, Tenn.

Field of Dreams stars Kevin Costner, Ray Liotta, James Earl Jones and Amy Madigan. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1990 (won by Driving Miss Daisy) and was selected to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress in 2017.
