McGregor Gets Feisty To Promote Burger King’s Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich

NYSJ Sports-Entertainment Business News Service

March 5, 2018: Burger King has teamed its own King together with the self-proclaimed MMA king, Conor McGregor, in a multi-media campaign to support the launch of Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich.

As part of a new deal, McGregor appears (and swears) in a spot touting the sandwich, only slightly edited, in which he boards a private jet and is handed the product by Burger King’s King, vowing to put it down as he has done opponents in the past.

“All this chicken and King talk swirling around out there has got me real fired up,” says McGregor in his heavy Irish accent.

McGregor brings his rough-and-tumble attitude — and signature-coiffed presence — to the Burger King ring, complete with some salty language that needs to be censored for family audiences.

“I'm ###*& up enough to try this Crispy Spicy Chicken Sandwich,” snarls McGregor as he grabs the sandwich and rips of a bite with his teeth.

“From the King, there’s no doubt I’m going to destroy this thing. So spicy and crispy and juicy. It just doesn’t stand a chance.”

The campaign will also spill over via Internet, social media and in-store.

Financial terms of the alliance between Burger King and McGregor were not shared.

McGregor references his critics and finances in the spot when he says, “By the way, for the ’trash talk’ guys, you just put Conner Jr. through college.”

McGregor last year realized a payday that earned him upward of $100 million due to his boxing match with Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. in August. A rematch is said to be in the planning process.

“Sticky ##$#$,” says McGregor in the intro spot. “Introducing the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Only at ‘Boiger King.”
