Little Caesars Delivers Campaign For College Football Pizza Bowl

November 2, 2009: Little Caesars has unveiled a multi-media campaign to support the first Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, featuring two of college football's top-ranked teams.

Little Caesars acquired naming rights to the game in September, which for the previous 12 seasons was known as the Motor City Bowl. The game will be played at Detroit's Ford Field on Dec. 26 and telecast on ESPN.

The pizza restaurant and carry-out chain said that now through Nov. 30, consumers can enter the "Bowl Game Bonanza," which is offering the opportunity to win tickets to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl and other college bowl games as well as Little Caesars products, including pizza for a year.

Support includes print, POP and a dedicated Web site (full details here).

College football bowl games are a prime selling time for pizza delivery companies. Rival Papa John's is title sponsor of the PapaJohns.com Bowl will be held on Jan. 2, also on ESPN. And the ESPN College Football Scoreboard is presented by Pizza Hut.

People can enter Little Caesars Bowl Game Bonanza by obtaining a promotion code at a participating Little Caesars location and then entering the code at LCPizzaBowl.com. There is no purchase necessary to receive the online code. (Full details available in-store at participating Little Caesars or the Web site).
.
One grand prize winner will win free Little Caesars pizza for a year, to be awarded as 52 $10 gift cards, plus hotel, airfare and four suite tickets to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl in Detroit on Dec. 26. Five winners will be awarded first prizes, including two tickets to a college bowl game of the winner's choice, plus hotel and airfare. Other prizes include 1,000 $10 Little Caesars gift cards. Customers who do not win a gift card will be awarded a coupon for a free Crazy Bread with the purchase of any Hot-N-Ready pizza.

"This promotion will bring national exposure for Little Caesars, and our franchisees are eager to share the bowl game excitement with all of our customers. Pizza and football are a natural combination, and with this game, everyone has a chance to be a winner with football and pizza prizes," Linda Jaworski, svp-marketing and communications for Little Caesar Enterprises, said in a statement. "We look forward to announcing additional promotions that will enhance the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl."

The Little Caesars Pizza Bowl features a bowl-eligible team from the Mid-American Conference playing a bowl-eligible team from the Big Ten Conference. If the Big Ten does not have an eligible team, the game will feature a team from the Big East that meets the NCAA requirement of at least six wins. In the event that the Big East does not have an available team, an at-large team can be chosen.
