• The NBA London Game 2019 will feature a regular-season game between the Washington Wizards and the New York Knicks in The O2 on Thursday, Jan. 17. Marketing partners include Foot Locker, Gatorade, Nike, SAP and Tissot, with additional partners to be unveiled in the coming months.

• The Denver Broncos home field is getting a temporary name change to Broncos Stadium at Mile High. It had been Sports Authority Field at Mile High, but the national sporting goods retailer, which had been based in Englewood, Col., ceased operations in July 2016. A search for a more permanent naming rights holder is currently underway.

• Per AP Sports: Burger King in Russia ran a promotion on social media offering a lifetime supply of Whoppers to any women who become pregnant by World Cup players. The offer was then deleted, In a statement Wednesday to AP, Burger King said, “We are sorry about the clearly offensive promotion that the team in Russia launched online. (It) does not reflect our brand or our values and we are taking steps to ensure this type of activity does not happen again.”

• The PGA TOUR has signed a deal with Facebook to distribute exclusive Saturday and Sunday live competition coverage, on a free basis, from eight tournaments leading into the FedExCup Playoffs for the 2017-18 season. Airing on Facebook Watch in the U.S., coverage begins at the Travelers Championship on June 23-24. Other events in 2018 include: Quicken Loans National; A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier; John Deere Classic; RBC Canadian Open; World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational; Wyndham Championship; and The Northern Trust.

A New Job For Will Ferrell? Lego Philadelphia Seeks ‘Master Model Builder’

November 15, 2016: If for some reason Will Ferrell is contemplating a career other than acting, there might be position open for him in Philadelphia.

In the 2014 film, The Lego Movie, Ferrell was the voices of Lord Business/President Business (and played The Man Upstairs when the animated film morphed into live action), who was a master builder who permanently fixed his Lego creations with "Kragle" (Crazy Glue).

Now, Lego is seeking to fill a position that might sound like a natural for someone just like Ferrell’s character: Master Model Builder at the Discovery Center in Philadelphia, which is scheduled to open in the Plymouth Meeting Mall in Spring 2017.

"If you can build absolutely anything out of Lego bricks and would love the chance to showcase your skills to the public, enter our Brick Factor competition to become our new Master Model Builder!"  Michael Taylor, GM for Legoland Discovery Center Philadelphia, said in a statement.

"The perfect candidate for Master Model Builder is someone with a passion for the Lego brand and enthusiasm for showing our guests the endless possibilities creating models using Lego bricks,"said Taylor.

According to the job description, the Master Model Builder is a "hands-on role that is responsible for maintaining and developing new features and building new models at Legoland Discovery Center, as well as working with the thousands of children expected to visit the attraction."

Lego has created a dedicated Web site with details.

Among the new Master Builder’s duties will be helping Legoland Discovery Center Philadelphia to recreate the city in miniature, with more than one million Lego bricks depicting the city’s "iconic landmarks and buildings," to be voted on by Lego fans and consumers. (Details here.)

Lego said that their would be a two-day Brick Factor competition where potential Master Builders would "display their skills by taking part in creative challenges and building original Lego brick models in timed rounds of judged competition."

The first day of Brick Factor, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 10, will consist of two rounds with eliminations taking place during each round. That day’s top ten competitors will participate in formal interviews and a final building challenge on Sunday, after which one will be named Legoland Discovery Center Philadelphia’s Master Model Builder. Guest judges for the competition include Megan Quigley, Master Model Builder at Legoland Discovery Center Boston, and "one lucky child" to be selected by Lego.

The 33,000-square-foot Legoland Discovery Center Philadelphia will also feature building areas, a 4D Cinema and an interactive LEGO-themed ride.

Other Legoland Discovery Center locations include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Westchester (NY), Shanghai, Tokyo and Toronto.
