LeBron's New Miami Heat Jersey: Get 'Em While They're Hot

July 9, 2010: It didn't take long for the first LeBron James' Miami Heat merchandise to hit the market.

Almost as soon as James revealed that he was leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers to sign as a free agent with the Heat, the NBA's online store was up and running with new No. 6 James jerseys in home and away versions.

The NBA Store was teaming the jersey alongside Dwyane Wade's No. 3 Heat jersey and that of Chris Bosh, No. 00, who, like James, is coming to the Heat as a free agent. Wade also was a free agent who is re-siging with the Heat.

The jerseys are actually being sold before any of the three players has officially signed with the team, although once the money is worked out that should become reality.

Old school: LeBron James' Cavaliers' jersey is either a collector's item or fodder for the discount pile, depending on your point of view. The NBA Store is also still selling James' No. 23 Cleveland Cavaliers' jerseys and other James' merchandise tagged with the Cavs' logo. Those either will become collectors' items and not be discounted or will it the discount bin sooner rather than later.

The NBA Store is proclaiming, "Be the first to represent the Miami Heats' All-Star Line-Up" alongside photos of the jerseys. The adidas jerseys are going for $49.99.

James' No. 23 Cavaliers' jersey was the second-best selling jersey this past season behind Kobe Bryant's Los Angeles Lakers jersey based on sales at the NBA Store in New York and online at the NBA Store. Wade's Heat jersey was sixth on the list.
