• Through the fist two weekends of the NBA Playoffs, national ad spend has reached $135.1 million across league media partners: TNT, ESPN, ESPN 2, ABC and NBA TV, according to iSpot.TV.  That is down from $145 million at the same point a year ago. Leading brands are Burger King (232 spots), Taco Bell (197), Verizon (158), Gatorade (157) and Corona Extra (147).

• NBC Sports said its coverage of the 2018 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs across the networks of NBCUniversal is averaging a Total Audience Delivery of 751,000 viewers through Sunday, the best in four years through the first 12 days of the playoffs. Kobe Back In Play For 2K Sports

October 5, 2009: The NBA season is still weeks away, but Kobe Bryant already is in championship for. Bryant stars in a new campaign for 2K Sports to support the release of NBA2K10, which hits retail Oct. 6.

The effort, "How Will You Take Over?" from 72andSunny. Los Angeles, features shots from the videogame, focusing on cover athlete Bryant as he soars, fakes and shakes and bakes his way over and through defenses, at one point facing a team of all-star opponents, over which he literaly soars en route to the basket.

The campaign includes TV, print, outdoor and a Facebook application and other Internet buys. Online spots show "unrehearsed" moments with Bryant playing the game, but not always winning, against fans and other players.

Kobe plays 'NBA 2K10' against Derrick Rose.Print ads include XXL, ESPN the Magazine, Dime, Slam, Bounce and Complex. Outdoor and street posters are appearing in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco.

"72andSunny and Zambezi helped us effectively utilize Kobe's star talents across every media platform for NBA 2K10," Jason Argent, vp-marketing for 2K Sports, said in a statement. "They really ensured that our investment will pay off by creating content that we know our audience is going to want to see and share.
