BodyArmor Adds James Harden, First NBA Endorser, To SuperDrink Marketing Roster

By Barry Janoff

February 25, 2014: James Harden, all-star point guard with the Houston Rockets, has signed a deal to become a spokesman for Body Armor SuperDrink, the brand's first official alliance with an NBA player.

The premium sports drink said that Harden is both a spokesperson and partner. Financial terms were not disclosed.

"Just hooked up with BodyArmor," Harden wrote on his Twitter account this morning (Feb. 25). "Ya'll need to start drinking this stuff ASAP."

Harden joins a brand roster of athletes that include Andrew Luck, Buster Posey, Mike Trout, LeSean McCoy and Rob Gronkowski.

Drink Body Armor unveiled the alliance via an intro TV spot on YouTube, in which Harden talks about the drink, basketball, training and his family.

"I was a Los Angeles Lakers fan growing up and the player I looked up to was Kobe Bryant," says Hardin, a native of the city. "He was one of the best, and he still is."

Holding up a can of BodyArmor, Harden says, "I have another level to go to in order to reach where I want to be. And that's to be the best player in the NBA."

Hardin, in his second season with the Rockets following three seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, also has marketing deals with BBVA Compass, Nike and Foot Locker.
