On The Road Again: NFL Unveils Full International Roster For 2024 Season

May 15, 2024: The Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars. New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears and New York Giants are all traveling this season, but they will need their passports.

As part of its full schedule reveal, the NFL today unveiled the full roster for the 2024 International Games that will be played across London, Munich and São Paulo, Brazil as the league continues to bolster its global footprint.

“We are delighted to announce these exciting match-ups across London and Munich, in addition to the historic first game in São Paulo, Brazil, to complete the 2024 International Games slate," Peter O'Reilly, NFL evp-club business, major events and international, said via the league.

“As the league and its 32 teams continue to prioritize international growth, we look forward to building on the incredible fan experiences seen in Europe while taking the game to new fans in South America."

This season's International Games begin in São Paulo, Brazil on Friday Sept. 6 of Week 1 of the regular season with the Packers and Eagles in Corinthians Arena (Peacock).

The Vikings play the Jets on Sunday, Oct. 6 in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (NFL Network) followed on Oct. 13 by the Bears and Jaguars, also in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (NFL Network).

The league moves to London’s Wembley Stadium when the Jaguars play the Patriots on Sunday, Oct. 20 (NFL Network).

This is the second time Jacksonville will play back-to-back games in the U.K., as well as the team's 12th and 13th regular season games in London. Jacksonville has global marketing rights in Ireland and the U.K. via the league’s Global Markets Program.

The Panthers will play the Giants in Munich at Allianz Arena Sunday, Nov. 10 (NFL Network) as part of the NFL's commitment to playing regular season games in Germany.

The league said its two games in Frankfurt last season had an overall economic impact of about $119 million for the city.

More than 100,000 fans attended the two consecutive NFL games in Frankfurt Stadium: Miami Dolphins vs. Kansas City Chiefs Nov. 5 and Indianapolis Colts vs. Patriots Nov. 12.

The NFL said its inaugural game in Germany (Tampa Bay vs. Seattle Seahawks, Nov. 13, 2022) had a $77M economic impact for Munich, with more than $35M in direct spending in Munich.

“Increasing international game inventory allows us to grow our global presence and share our game with exciting new markets to connect with more fans around the world,” NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said via the league.

“Bringing the NFL to new continents, countries and cities around the world is a critical element of our plan to continue to grow the game globally.”

Plans are to increase the number to eight in 2025, including a potential return to Mexico City (where the NFL-purpose stadium is undergoing renovations) and the first game in Madrid, Spain.

According to Goodell, that could “eventually” increase to 16 per season.

“Becoming a global sport is a major strategic priority for the league and 32 teams,” said Goodell.

The news comes as AP Sports is reporting that the Jaguars and the city of Jacksonville have agreed to a $1.4 billion "stadium of the future" that would keep the franchise in EverBank Stadium for another 30 years.

"The proposal includes agreements that address the franchise's future in London and a non-relocation clause. Under the new lease, the Jaguars would play all pre-season and post-season games in Jacksonville and would continue to play one home game a year in London, likely at Wembley Stadium.

“The Jags could play one additional home game every four years overseas, but only if the NFL dictates and only during seasons in which the Jaguars have nine home games,” according to AP Sports.

The Giants and Packers are also part of the NFL's Madden Thanksgiving Celebration tripleheader on Nov. 28: Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions (CBS 12:30 PM ET). Giants at Dallas Cowboys (Fox 4:30 PM ET), Miami Dolphins at Packers (NBC 8 PM ET).

In addition, the Giants have been tapped by HBO, NFL Films, Skydance Sports for Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants, a new iteration of the franchise that will document the NFL off-season for the first time.

The five-part original series will bring viewers inside the Giants organization as the team prepares for its 100th season, from January to July 2024, including the NFL Scouting Combine, free agency the NFL Draft and team minicamps.

The series premieres Tuesday, July 2 on HBO, with new episodes debuting subsequent Tuesdays through July 30.
