Foot Locker, Nike Bringing Discover Your Air Network To Social Media Airwaves

NYSJ Sports-Entertainment Business News Service

March 19, 2019:
Saying that it was ”inspired by the intersection of past and future,” Foot Locker is launching the Discover Your Air Network, featuring “cable network-inspired programming for the ultimate sneakerhead” filled with exclusive Nike Air Max content, news and product.

People will be able to view DYA Network content — an extension of the retailer's Discover Your Air platform — on Foot Locker's Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Snapchat channels.

Foot Locker custom programs airing throughout March will build toward the celebration of Nike Air Max Day (March 26).

DYA Network will feature four marquee shows focusing on Nike Air Max fans, including the animated "The Air Pair," "Airobics" fitness show, the sitcom "Air It Out" and "DYA Shoe Tips” news program.

The programs were created and produced by Laundry Service.

Foot Locker has released a promo spot, “Foot Locker x Nike Discover Your Air Network,” that includes snippets of these shows.

To support DYA Network, Foot Locker will unveil a multi-media effort anchored by three commercials: "Fit by the Pros," "Airuption" and "Get Gusted."

Creative and programming will feature athletes, celebrities and social media residents including Shiggy, Rosalyn Gold-Onwude, Jared Goff of the Los Angeles Rams (pictured above), Johnny Hekker, Jacques Slade, Tyree Dillihay, Emily Oberg, Dan Rue, Chico Bean, Corey Charron, Dylan and Dakota Gonzalez, Gene Steratore, Brendan Dunne, Kid the Wiz, Tony D, Brittney Elena, Gashi and Swoosh God.

As part of the Nike celebration, Foot Locker will undertake several activations”

• Launching the Nike Throwback Future Pack on March 21.

• In its Houston Galleria location, Foot Locker will host an interactive in-store "throwback" experience from March 21 – 31.

• On Nike Air Max Day on March 26, Foot Locker and Nike will launch "Air Max Supply," a home shopping program airing exclusively on Twitch. The show, hosted by Jacques Slade, will be streamed live from Foot Locker in Houston Galleria and will allow consumers to place call-in orders of the latest Air Max styles.

"We set out to unveil some of our hottest Nike Air Max Drops of the season in tandem with releasing ownable creative content that brings our #DiscoverYourAir platform to life for our sneaker community," Patrick Walsh, vp-marketing for Foot Locker North America, said via the company.

"By creating Foot Locker's very own cable network, we're celebrating the timelessness of Nike Air and adding in some of today's biggest tastemakers to celebrate Nike Air Max Day and the sneakers that resonate across generations of sneaker shoppers."
