October 23, 2019: To help support the launch of Nike’s Jordan Brand’s Michael Jordan Rivals footwear/apparel collection, Foot Locker said it would open a pop-up Rivals Café powered by FoodBeast in its Los Angeles flagship store.
The offerings include classic sandwiches and hot dogs from Los Angeles and Chicago, available to Foot Locker customers purchasing pieces in-store from the Jordan Rivals line.
Rivals Café (located at Hollywood and Highland) is scheduled to be open Oct. 24-27 and Oct. 31-Nov. 3 (5-9 PM PT Thursday-Saturday and 3-7 PM PT on Sundays).
Foot Locker and Nike said the Jordan Rivals collection was inspired by Michael Jordan's most notable basketball rivals, featuring "bold colorways and a retro style."
After purchasing an item(s) from the Jordan Rivals collection, customers are handed a two-sided menu, with a No. 23 Chicago menu on one side and a No. 32 (thinking of you, Magic Johnson) Los Angeles menu on the other.
People make their choice at the nearby take-out window and are handed their food item in a shoe box-like container.
The Los Angeles menu includes the L.A. Dirty Dog and L.A. French Dip.
The Chicago menu includes the Chicago Hot Dog and Chicago Italian Bee.
• The L.A. Dirty Dog: Bacon-wrapped hot dog, served with grilled onions, peppers, a charred jalapeño and topped with mayo, mustard and ketchup.
• The Chicago Hot Dog: An all-beef dog on a poppy seed bun topped with chopped white onions, sweet pickle relish, dill pickle spear, tomato slice, sport peppers and mustard only.
• The L.A. French Dip: Thinly sliced roast beef atop a French roll, served with a side of beef broth to dip. Optional Swiss cheese and onions are available.
• The Chicago Italian Beef: Simmered beef on an Italian roll, topped with a "hot" giardiniera and sweet peppers, served with a side of au jus.
