They’re Back: Mannings Prepare For Season Two Of ESPN 'MNF With Peyton And Eli'

September 1, 2022: Following an Emmy-winning inaugural season, Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli, an ESPN and Omaha Productions’ joint venture, will return for ten Monday Night Football alternate presentations throughout the 2022 NFL season.

ESPN said the alternate broadcast would continue to be “a unique blend of real-time football commentary, sibling needling, and whatever else is on everyone’s mind.”

The second season is scheduled to premiere Sept. 12 when the Denver Broncos, with whom Peyton Manning won a Super Bowl, and their new quarterback Russell Wilson visit Wilson’s prior team, the Seattle Seahawks.

Following the 2022 season premiere during Week 1, Peyton and Eli return in Week 3 for the Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants and Week 4 when the defending Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams visit the San Francisco 49ers.

Throughout the season, Peyton will continue to host from his Denver couch and Eli from his couch in his New Jersey basement.

Guests last season included Snoop Dogg, Draymond Green, Bill Parcells, LeBron James, Tom Brady, Charles Barkley, Kevin Hart, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Davis Letterman and Jon Stewart.

Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli won a Sports Emmy in May for Outstanding Live Television Series.

ESPN2 will air all editions of Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli, with four presentations simulcast on ESPN+. Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli will also be available to stream on mobile with NFL+.

The alternate presentation will go live right before kickoff (approximately 8:13 PM ET).

In its first season, ESPN said Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli helped Monday Night Football deliver its most-watched season since 2010

Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli “rewrote ESPN’s record books for alternate telecasts (and) holds ESPN’s record for the nine most-watched alternate telecasts (which include more than 60 such telecasts since 2014)."

The show’s regular season high came with 1.96 million viewers (New York Giants at Kansas City, Week 8) and also hit 1.9 million on two other occasions (Philadelphia at Dallas, Week 3; and Detroit at Green Bay, Week 2).

Overall, the nine episodes this past season averaged 1.6 million viewers.

“I’ve always loved talking football with my brother, and it was even more fun to do it while watching ESPN’s Monday Night Football,” Peyton Manning said via ESPN.

“Eli and I are excited to sign on for another season, and the entire Omaha team is looking forward to producing MegaCasts that celebrate other sports.”

This past February, The Walt Disney Company/ESPN and Omaha Productions — an entertainment company launched by Peyton Manning following his retirement from the NFL — expanded their relationship, adding alternate productions around golf, UFC and college football.

Since then, PGA Championship with Joe Buck & Michael Collins and UFC 278 with The Gronks have debuted, with Pat McAfee set to host college football alternate telecasts this season.

Omaha Production and Peyton Manning’s alliance with ESPN and Disney formally began in 2019 with the launch of Peyton’s Places on ESPN+.

“This new agreement allows us to deepen our relationship and explore original concepts to spread that magic to other sports and events. Ultimately, this will help grow our audience by providing fans with even more creative options that they crave.”
