ESPN Unveils MegaCast Plans for ‘Mega’ Coach K’s Final Duke Home Game

March 2, 2022: To commemorate the final home game in the storied career of Duke men’s basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski, ESPN is planning a multi-media, multi-platform megacast from Cameron Indoor Stadium leading to and then on March 5.
The Sonic Blockbuster and Saturday Primetime presented by H&R Block game against Duke rival North Carolina on Coach K Court will have a traditional broadcast on ESPN (6 PM ET), but will also be presented live in 4K resolution on DirecTV, Comcast, YouTube TV and Verizon FiOS.
ESPN will have coverage across its networks, studio shows and digital platforms beginning March 3, including live, onsite reports from Duke; coverage on various studio shows and during halftime of men’s college games March 3-5.
On March 5, ESPN will have live, on-site, all-day coverage beginning with SportsCenter at 7 AM (ET).
A special two-hour GameDay on March 5 will feature round-table discussions with Jon Scheyer, who is following Krzyzewsk as Duke head coach, as well as current basketball staff members and former Duke players.
Other ESPN platforms that are part of the event include ACC Network, ESPN App, ESPN Daily Podcast and ESPN.com.
Nothing But Net Presented by TIAA, ACCN’s basketball show, will be onsite outside of Cameron Indoor with a special 90-minute pre-game show, as well as halftime and an hour-long post-game show.
The ESPN App will offer two additional alternate viewing experiences: "Surround" and "Supracam" feeds of the Tar Heels vs. Blue Devils.
According to ESPN, “Robotic cameras attached to both baskets provide the surrounding court view of the game, while Supra Cam will deliver an aerial view of the game and all that’s happening inside Cameron Indoor Stadium.”
Krzyzewski has served as the head men's basketball coach at Duke University since 1980, where he has led the Blue Devils to five NCAA Div. I titles: 1991, 1992, 2001, 2010 and 2015.
Overall, the team under Krzyzewski has been to 12 Final Fours, and has 15 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament championships and 12 ACC regular season titles.
The No. 4 Blue Devils will be part of the upcoming Men’s Div. I basketball tournament, so the numbers on Coach K are not yet finalized.
