NFL, AP Unveil Award Finalists For 2024: Lamar Eyes MVP Three-Peat

January 23, 2025: Larmar Jackson won’t win the Super Bowl this season, but the Baltimore Ravens quarterback is in line to win his third NFL MVP.

Jackson — who won the award in 2019 and 2023 — joins Josh Allen (QB, Buffalo Bills), Saquon Barkley (RB, Philadelphia Eagles), Joe Burrow (QB, Cincinnati Bengals) and Jared Goff (QB, Detroit Lions) as finalists for the NFL and Associated Press award.

Allen, Barkley, Burrow and Goff will each be seeking their first NFL-AP MVP Award during NFL Honors presented by Invisalign.

Finalists for the 2024 NFL season have also been named in categories including Coach of the Year, Assistant Coach of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year and Offensive and Defensive Players and Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year.

Award winners will be named as part of Super Bowl LIX week at NFL Honors presented by Invisalign Feb. 6 in Saenger Theatre in New Orleans (9 PM ET). The event will be hosted by Snoop Dogg.

Jackson, Barkley and Burrow were also named among the finalists for AP Offensive Player of the Year presented by Microsoft Surface.

Two of the five men named as finalists for AP Coach of the Year are still on-track to win Super Bowl LIX heading toward the NFL Conference Finals: Washington Commanders Dan Quinn and Andy Reid of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The other three are Dan Campbell (Detroit Lions), Kevin O'Connell (Minnesota Vikings) and Sean Payton (Denver Broncos).

NFL Honors will air live on Fox and NFL Network and stream on NFL+ (9 PM ET).

NFL Honors will also feature the naming of the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year presented by Nationwide and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of ’25.

The NFL Fan of the Year presented by Captain Morgan will also be honored.

The NFL Honors Red Carpet Show presented by Invisalign airs on NFL Network leading up to NFL Honors. NFL Honors is an NFL Network production in association with Rock Garden Media.

The finalists were determined by the AP’s voting system, which has a “nationwide panel of 40-50 media members” who cover the NFL rank their top five MVP picks and their top three picks for all other awards.
