Zero Adds Up In Pepsi Zero ‘Official Zero Of The NFL’ Multi-Media Campaign

August 9, 2023: Via a new rule, NFL players this season for the first time in 40 years will be able to wear a jersey sporting the No. 0.
As the “official soft drink” of the NFL (for more than 20 years), Pepsi is taking advantage of that fact by designating Pepsi Zero Sugar as the new “official zero of the NFL" for the 2023-2024 season.
Pepsi is working with running back D'Andre Swift of the Philadelphia Eagles — one of the first players to switch to No. 0 for the upcoming season following a rule change for 2023 — to give away No. 0 NFL player jerseys from various teams to “passionate, unapologetic fans all around the country.”
Starting today through Sept. 17, people can go to www.pepsizerojersey.com for a chance to win one of 100 jerseys.
For teams without a player representing No. 0, brand Pepsi will offer to create a custom No. 0 jersey for winning fans. (Details here.)
Pepsi Zero Sugar will work with other players wearing No. 0 to join D'Andre Swift on #TeamZero throughout the season.
The initial #TeamZero roster (pictured above) also includes Adrian Amos (S New York Jets), Braxton Berrios (WR Miami Dolphins), Parris Campbell (WR New York Giants), Marcus Davenport (DE Minnesota Vikings), Daiyan Henley (LB Los Angeles Chargers) and Byron Young (LB Los Angeles Rams).
"With many fans expressing their excitement to see which of their favorite players choose Zero, the timing couldn't be more perfect for Pepsi Zero Sugar to show up for the most loyal football watchers," Melissa Duhaime, PepsiCo director of sports marketing, said via the company.

This past March, the NFL approved a number of rule changes for the 2023 season, including the use of zero ("0") as a jersey numeral, as proposed by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Prior to NFL jersey number changes in 1973, players who wore jersey No. 0 or 00 included Jim Otto (“00”) with the Oakland Raiders; FB Johnny Olszewski (“0”) with Washington, Detroit and Denver; and QB Johnny Clement, who has been the only member of the Pittsburgh Steelers to wear “00”.
In 1967, safety Obert Logan of the New Orleans Saints — whose nickname was "The Little O" — was the last player to wear “0”.
In 1981, thanks to a Grandfather Clause, WR Ken Burrough with the Houston Oilers was the last player to wear “00.”

The Pepsi “official zero of the NFL" campaign also includes:

Pepsi will debut the "Zero Games Ticket Giveaway" later this season, giving “passionate, diehard NFL fans the opportunity to score tickets to their first NFL game!
