Deloitte Sponsors U.S. Olympians, National Sled Hockey En Route To Winter Games

September 21, 2017: Professional services firm Deloitte, an official partner with the U.S. Olympic Committee, is heading toward the 2018 Winter Olympics full speed, unveiling its sponsorship of ten athletes seeking a spot in the Games as well as the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team.
Team Deloitte is led by Shani Davis (speedskating), a four-time Olympian with two gold medals and two silvers; Gus Kenworthy (freestyle skiing), who won silver at Sochi in 2014; Hilary Knight (ice hockey), whose squads won silver medals at both the 2010 (Vancouver) and 2014 Winter Games; Elana Meyers Taylor (bobsled) who won bronze medals at both the 2010 and 2014 Olympics; and Danelle Umstead (alpine skiing), who won bronze medals in the super combined at both the 2010 and 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.
"What’s especially meaningful about our relationship is the opportunity to work with outstanding athletes who have committed themselves to excellence in their sport, serving as leaders and sources of inspiration," Cathy Engelbert, Deloitte CEO, said in a statement.
"These women and men are at the heart of our sponsorship, and we take pride in helping them awaken their full potential."
As part of planned multi-platform marketing, Deloitte has released an umbrella spot, "Meet Team Deloitte," as well as individual spots focusing on Kenworthy, Umstead and other athletes.
The 2018 Games are scheduled for Feb. 9-25, 2018. The Paralympic Games are March 8-18.
The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team, under the auspices of USA Hockey, are the defending Paralympic and World champions.
Deloitte said it shares with the USOC common values such as "leadership, integrity, commitment to teaming, strength through diversity and global perspective."
In supporting the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team, Deloitte said it "celebrates the power of sport, inclusion, teamwork, courage and perseverance.”
According to Alan Ashley, chief of sport for the USOC, "The USOC leans on its sponsors to help equip Team USA athletes with the tools and resources needed to compete on the world stage. Since 2009, Deloitte has helped support the growth and development of elite U.S. athletes, while promoting the values of the Olympic and Paralympic movements throughout the United States."
Team Deloitte also includes Brittany Bowe (speedskating), a 2014 Olympian, four-time world champion and world record holder; Jason Brown (figure skating); Mikaela Matthews (freestyle skiing); Rico Roman (sled hockey); and Nic Taylor (bobsled).
