January 22, 2018: Danica Patrick, who last week re-signed with former lead sponsor GoDaddy in her quest to finish her pro racing career, now has a new ride, Premium Motorsports.

The deal means that Patrick is "guaranteed a spot in the Daytona 500" next month, which is the first half of her self-titled ‘Danica Double,’ which also includes the Indy 500 in May.

The one-race pact with Premium will enable Patrick to race in the No. 7 GoDaddy Chevrolet Camaro, which is “the same car number she competed with in her first foray into stock car racing at Daytona in 2010. “

Financial terms of the deal were not shared.

“Let’s do this!!!!” Patrick posted to her Twitter site, where she has nearly two million followers. “Lucky number 7!”

Premium Motorsports recently purchased the assets of Tommy Baldwin Racing and said it would use the charter held by the No. 15 entry to field the No. 7 GoDaddy Chevrolet at Daytona.

"We've been working on this behind-the-scenes for a while," Jay Robinson, Premium Motorsports team owner, said in a statement. "Now that we've finalized the deal, we're 100% focused on getting the No. 7 GoDaddy Chevrolet ready for Daytona.

This will mark Patrick’s seventh appearance in the Daytona 500, with two eighth-place finishes as her best results, according to Nascar. She also won the pole position for the 2013 event.

Patrick competed in the Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series for the past five seasons with Stewart-Haas Racing but parted ways with them and subsequently unveiled her retirement plans following changes in sponsorships.

The 60th running of the Daytona 500 is scheduled for Feb. 18 (Fox) at Daytona International Speedway.

According to Patrick, "I'm convinced that good vibes translate into performance — and I'm definitely feeling the good energy with this sponsor and team. I'm ready to get back in the No. 7 GoDaddy Chevrolet."
Also returning to work with Patrick is crew chief Tony Eury Jr., who held that position when she raced in the Nascar Xfinity Series from 2010-12.

Patrick said she plans to unveil the new No. 7 GoDaddy Chevrolet with Premium Motorsports within the next two weeks.

GoDaddy signed Patrick to a sponsorship deal in 2006, just after she launched her pro career in IndyCar, then in 2010 was her primary sponsor when she began to race part-time and then full-time in Nascar.

Patrick and GoDaddy parted ways prior to the 2016 season, but not before she appeared for GoDaddy in more than a dozen Super Bowl commercials — many deemed risqué — a record for the Big Game.

GoDaddy said the alliance would continue during Danica's “life-after-racing by powering the online presence for her business endeavors related to health, apparel and wine.”

“Danica absolutely epitomizes the heart of our GoDaddy customers. We love it,” said Barb Rechterman, CMO for GoDaddy.
