Comcast Spinoff Versant Plays Major Roster For USA Sports: Nascar, WNBA, WWE

November 13, 2025: Comcast Corp. has unveiled programming for its planned Versant spinoff and USA Sports as the new brand and division name for the company’s sports portfolio across USA Network and Golf Channel.

USA Sports will encompass all sports properties and programming on Versant platforms, including Nascar, PGA Tour, Premier League, WWE, WNBA, USGA, LPGA Tour and PGA of America,.

In total, USA Sports will present more than 10,000 hours of event, studio and original sports programming across USA Network, Golf Channel and CNBC in 2026.

Women’s sports will be feateured throughout USA Sports’ programming, with some 1,000 hours in 2026, including pro, college and amateur women’s sports.

“Our new USA Sports brand and division name leans into USA Network’s decades-long reputation as a top national sports and entertainment network,” Matt Hong, president, said via USA Sports. 

“Our diverse portfolio of sports properties and programming across our platforms highlights top-tier global leagues and amplifies major events throughout the sports landscape.”

USA Sports has already added to its lineup, signing a five-year partnership with Pac-12 Conference beginning in 2026-27, featuring regular season games for football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball, plus the league’s men’s basketball tournament live on USA Network.

As part of the long-term partnership, which runs through the 2030-31 season, USA Network will annually present more than 80 games for the new Pac-12.

The USA Network news coincides with Comcast’s NBCUniversal new NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) — a 24/7 linear network featuring a wide range of marquee sporting events and programming from NBC Sports — which will officially launch Nov. 17.

Events and programming on NBCSN will include Monday Night NBA games and NBA Playoffs; WNBA regular season and playoff games; Premier League soccer,; Big Ten and Notre Dame Football; Big Ten, Big East and Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Golf Majors; and such Olympic sports as Figure Skating, Ski & Snowboard, Gymnastics, Swimming and Track & Field.

USA Sports’ portfolio is also complemented by Versant’s digital and streaming sports businesses, including GolfNow and GolfPass, its golf membership program co-founded by Rory McIlroy; and youth sports technology and video platform SportsEngine.

Among USA Sports programming: 

• Nascar Cup Series Playoffs and ten Cup Series races annually. USA Sports also produces the final four races of the Playoffs on NBC/Peacock, including the Nascar Cup Series Championship.

• Golf Channel is the home of the PGA Tour with year-round tournament coverage, news, and analysis – including every Signature event and tentpole events such as the Players Championship, the FedExCup Playoffs, and the biennial Presidents Cups. In all, Golf Channel will present coverage of 45 PGA Tour events in 2026 and xclusive linear coverage of the PGA Tour Champions and Korn Ferry Tour.

• More than 175 Premier League matches will air on USA Network over the course of the 2025-26 campaign. 

• The weekly TV home of WWE with live primetime coverage of WWE Smackdown airing Friday nights regularly throughout the year. 

• More than 50 WNBA games next season – including 2026 WNBA Finals games. The 2026 WNBA on USA schedule will be highlighted by Wednesday night doubleheaders, showcasing matchups across the Eastern and Western conferences. 

USA Sports recently announced a six-year agreement with the USGA to present on Golf Channel coverage of national championships – the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open – on USA Network through 2032, as well as live coverage of the USGA’s amateur championships.

With the R&A (Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews), USA Network will have coverage of both The Open Championship and the AIG Women’s Open.

• Golf Channel is the home of the LPGA Tour, delivering live coverage beginning with the Tournament of Champions in January through the CME Group Tour Championship in November. Golf Channel also features exclusive coverage of the Ladies’ European Tour. 

• With PGA of America, USA Sports provides biennial coverage the Ryder Cup, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, PGA WorksS Collegiate Championship, and the PGA Professional Championship.

• USA Sports will present more than 40 regular season Atlantric-10 men’s and women’s college basketball games during the 2025-2026 season and men’s and women’s conference tournament games. 

• Golf Channel will present comprehensive coverage of the DP World Tour in 2026, presenting all 35-plus events of the men’s pro tour of the European Tour group spanning 26 different countries.

• Golf Channel will be on-site at Augusta National Golf Club all week with Live From The Masters, providing pre- and post-round analysis for The Masters Tournament. Golf Channel also presents annual coverage of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur held at Champions Retreat and Augusta National Golf Club.

• Golf Channel’s men’s and women’s college golf in the U.S. will have live coverage of more than ten events in the spring and fall of 2026, including the men’s and women’s NCAA Championships, the St Andrews Links Collegiate at St Andrews in Scotland, and the East Lake Cup at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga.

• USA Sports has a multi-year deal with League One Volleyball (LOVB, pronounced “LOVE”), the women’s pro volleyball leagues. Beginning in January 2026, USA Network will present a primetime Match of the Week, culminating with the LOVB Championship Match on USA Network in April.
