Pitch Perfect: Messi’s Inter Miami Home Venue Has A New Name: Chase Stadium

By Barry Janoff

February 20, 2024: Just in time for the start of the 2024 MLS season, the home pitch for Inter Miami CF — fronted by Lionel Messi — has a new name.

Inter Miami CF has signed a multi-year, multi-level deal with JPMorgan Chase to include naming rights to the team’s 21,500-seat venue, located in Fort Lauderdale, now known as Chase Stadium.

The financial firm said the partnership with Inter Miami CF is its “first stadium naming rights deal in professional fútbol.”

Financial terms were not shared.

The stadium had been known as DRV PNK via a deal with AutoTrader.

“Inter Miami is honored to partner with the country's largest bank, JPMorgan Chase,” Xavier Asensi, Inter Miami chief business officer, said via the team.

“When it comes to partnerships, we believe in quality, and we are thrilled to kick off an exciting campaign ahead alongside an impactful partner like Chase.”

Chase Stadium is expected to be Inter Miami’s home only through the 2024 and possibly 2025 seasons.

The club is currently driving the Miami Freedom Park complex project, a 131-acre development being built on the current site of the Melreese Golf Course, which is city-owned land.

The complex will be anchored by a 25,000-seat stadium, public parks and offices, currently targeted for the 2025 MLS season.

JPMorgan Chase will be involved with the team for those seasons and more regardless of where Inter Miami plays.

Messi, who joined Inter Miami this past July, has a contract with the team that currently runs thru 2025.

“When it comes to partnerships, we believe in quality, and we are thrilled to kick off an exciting campaign ahead alongside an impactful partner like Chase.”

Asensi and JPMorgan Chase indicated that the JPMorgan Chase alliance would carry over long-term to the new complex.

“We could not have envisioned a more fitting new main partner, as we look forward to chasing our dreams at Chase Stadium in 2024 and beyond,” said Asensi,.

According to Carla Hassan, JPMorgan Chase CMO, via the company, “Inter Miami CF has become one of the most recognizable and innovative brands in sports, and they have developed and executed a vision for on-and-off-the-field excellence.

“Their fans are passionate, committed, and proud that Inter Miami CF represents the unique and diverse identity of the area. JPMorgan Chase wants to be a part of this journey, reflecting our long-standing presence serving the people of Miami and South Florida at all levels.

"Together, our two brands will work to lift and inspire our shared community.”

As part of the pact, there will be an exclusive entrance for Chase card holders to enter Chase Stadium on matchday via the Chase Fast Lane (expected to go live in the coming weeks).

Chase will have a visible presence throughout the stadium with major signage on the interior and exterior of the stadium.

Inter Miami CF will also introduce the J.P. Morgan Suite Level and VIP Entrance, and showcase the company’s brands on key visuals with LEDs and other stadium signage.

“Inter Miami CF and JPMorgan Chase are two global brands that share a common goal of uniting communities and people around the world,” Daniel Pinto, president and COO for JPMorgan Chase, said via the firm.

“We not only do business throughout Miami and South Florida, the region is home to many of our employees, customers and community partners. Having grown up in Argentina, I have long been an admirer of how this sport can lift up a city economically and culturally, and we’re excited to play an even bigger role in the region’s vibrant economic growth.”

JPMorgan Chase also has sports-related alliances that include New York’s Madison Square Garden, the U.S. Open, F1 Miami Grand Prix, the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and Chase Center, home to the Golden State Warriors.
