Defending National Champs Michigan Wolverines Earn ’24 Ticket Sales Title

August 13, 2024: The Michigan Wolverines captured the CFB Playoff National Championship last season, and based on ticket sales and fan interest, they are not about to disappear this season.
Michigan is No. 1 among in-demand teams — with ticket sales for Wolverine games up 71% compared to this time last year — and they have two of the Top Three best-selling games entering the season, according to the just-released 2024 College Football Season Preview from online ticket marketplace StubHub.
Overall, ticket sales for CFB are up 42% compared to last season's start, with sales for the Big Ten double compared to the 2023 season start.
However, the SEC leads sales with most teams on the Top Ten list, with the SEC outselling No. 2 Big Ten by nearly 30%.
Key factors to driving ticket sales across the board are the expanded CFB Playoffs and major moves in conference realignments, according to StubHub.
The Big Ten is now the biggest Conference, with four new teams to bring it up to 18.
"This year marks an exciting new era in college football with conference realignment and an expanded college playoff landscape sure to bring more high-stakes, late-season match-ups," Adam Budelli, StubHub spokesperson, said via the company.
“Football dynasties like Alabama and Michigan continue to drive big demand, but schools like Texas and USC recorded their highest sales in StubHub history after moving to the SEC and Big Ten."
USC Trojans sales are up 7-times vs. 2023, with the Vegas Kickoff Classic featuring the Trojans and LSU Tigers Sept. 1 the best-selling game on StubHub’s platform.
