• The NFL's 100th season will begin with the Chicago Bears hosting the Green Bay Packers in Soldier Field on Thursday, Sept. 5 (NBC, 8:20 PM ET). This will be the 199th meeting between the Bears and Packers, including regular- and post-season. Super Bowl champion New England Patriots will begin their season on NBC Sunday Night Football Sept. 8. Their opponent will be named when the full 2019 regular season schedule is released later this spring.

• Kraft Heinz, in partnership with the NHL and NHLPlayers’ Association (NHLPA) has unveiled the top four finalist communities competing for the coveted title of Kraft Hockeyville USA 2019. Voting begins March 30.

• NBA Experience, the new destination coming to Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort (Orlando) will officially open Aug. 12, 2019. In collaboration with the NBA, Disney is developing NBA Experience with 13 interactive elements and hands-on activities across 44,000 square feet and two floors, also including a NBA-themed retail store.

• D.G. Yuengling & Son brewery has signed a deal with Philadelphia Phillies' pitcher Aaron Nola, making him one of the first active, MLB players to have a partnership with a beer brand. Yuengling has been a sponsor of the Phillies since 2017,

• Alex Rodriguez' future is so hot he needs to wear shades. Good thing Jennifer Lopez also needs to wear shades. The celebrity couple stars in a new year-long marketing from Quay Australia, which is being called “their first major fashion campaign together,’ by industry analysts. Media includes print, digital and social media.

• The 2019 Alliance of American Football Championship, originally scheduled for April 27 in Las Vegas, will be played in Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas., which is owned and operated by Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys.

• MLB and the MLB Players’ Assn. have unveiled numerous changes to the game to be installed over the next two seasons that will impact game length, marketing broadcast partners, the All-Star Game and the Home Run Derby. Full story here.

Buffalo Wild Wings Spices Up UFC 200 Showcase With TV, Sweeps, Star Athletes

May 11, 2016: As hot and spicy as things are in the UFC, Buffalo Wild Wings plans to make key upcoming events even hotter and spicier.

Buffalo Wild Wings, which has partnered with the organization on past events, has unveiled a multi-layer campaign to support its alliance with UFC, including TV, Internet, social media, a special UFC-themed takeout order and a sweepstakes offering a trip to Las Vegas to attend UFC 200 in Las Vegas.

The effort is part of a broader platform, #BDubsAliveEvents, in which Buffalo Wild Wings connects customers with athletes and/or brings them to destinations such as concerts and sports games.

The casual dining and sports bar destination said it would air UFC 200 as well as two other upcoming UFC showdowns in more than 900 restaurants nationwide: UFC 198, May 14 (Brazil); UFC 199, June 4 in The Forum, Los Angeles,; UFC 200, July 9, in T-Mobile Arena.

A TV spot supporting the upcoming events, "Takeout Fakeout," stars UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and UFC Hall of Famer Forrest Griffin, overseeing a rouse in which a guy who enters a Buffalo Wild Wings in Las Vegas to pick up a takeout order prior to UFC 197 is  greeted in person by the pair.

After watching some UFC 197 preliminary fights on TV, the guy's friends arrive in a pre-arranged limo, which takes them all to watch UFC 197 in person in the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and where they also get to meet UFC president Dana White. (See the full spot here.)

For people choosing to watch the events at home via PPV, Buffalo Wild Wings said that they can order a limited-edition UFC Takeout Pack (FYI: 60 boneless or traditional wings and chips and salsa, with the option to upgrade to Chili Queso dip).

According to Todd Kronebusch, vp-guest experience and innovation for Buffalo Wild Wings, “We’re excited to offer our guests with more ways to enjoy their favorite Buffalo Wild Wings food while watching their favorite sports and events.

"Whether it’s in our restaurants or preparing for a watch party at their home, Buffalo Wild Wings is helping UFC fans do fight night right," said Kronebusch.
