What's Next For Patriots Super Bowl MVP Edelman, QB Brady: Going To Disney World
By Barry Janoff
February 4, 2019: It only took minutes after the New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams, 13-3, in Super Bowl LIII for the first post-game commercial to be filmed.
Amid the crush of players, officials and media, game MVP Julian Edelman and quarterback Tom Brady of the Patriots were hugging and dancing, being covered by a torrent of confetti.
Then someone from Walt Disney marketing yelled, "Justin, the Disney commercial.”
Seconds later, the wide receiver and Brady looked into a nearby camera and yelled, “We’re going to Disney World! Wooooo!” Then they hugged again.
That was the response to a voiceover question in an umbrella campaign, “What’s Next?”, that has been asked of Super Bowl MVPs since Phil Simms of the New York Giants heard in in 1987 after winning Super Bowl XXXV: “You just won the Super Bowl. What are you going to do next?”
According to Darrell Fry, Sports Media Director, Walt Disney World Resort, “The star tandem of quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Julian Edelman just shouted 'We’re going to Disney World!' into the cameras Sunday night moments after their New England Patriots clinched an NFL record-tying sixth Super Bowl championship in Atlanta.
“Once Brady and Edelman arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, they will be celebrated with a magical parade at Magic Kingdom Park on Monday, (beginning at approximately 2:40 PM. ET). Thousands of cheering Patriots fans are expected to line Main Street, U.S.A. for the festivities.”
The celebration for the players and their families will include popular Disney characters, festive music and lots of confetti, as well as Brady and Edelman having fun experiencing some signature attractions.
The Disney Parks Blog will live-stream the festivities and parade.

The spot shows action from Super Bowl LIII, including passes from Brady to Edelman.
As with past "What's Next?" spots, it plays out to the song, "When You Wish Upon a Star," and ends with a shot of fireworks over Cinderella's castle. (See the full spot here.)
Brady finished the game 21-35 for 262 passing yards, while Edelman had ten catches for 141 yards.
Brady was named MVP of Super Bowls XXXVI, XXXVIII, XLIX and LI.
The Patriots have appeared in 11 Super Bowls since Super Bowl XX in 1986 and five since 2011.
