Azarenka Uses Social Media To Ensure Marketing Future With Esurance Alliance

April 4, 2014: Tennis star Victoria Azarenka may currently be ranked No. 4 in the world, but she's out to show that she is ranked No. 1 on social media via a new deal with Esurance.

The direct-to-consumer insurance company, a division of Allstate, has signed a two-year agreement to be an official sponsor of Victoria Azarenka, which makes Esurance her exclusive insurance partner during the length of the term.

Azarenka unveiled the deal via her Facebook and Vine pages, which quickly found its way to YouTube, as well as on her Twitter account.

The Facebook post came with a 30-second video in which, among other things, the two-time Grand Slam winner said that she would share upcoming news and activation regarding her new deal via her social media accounts.

"I'm so happy to be partnering with such an amazing and awesome brand," Azarenka said in the video. "Follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for some exciting news."

Azarenka has 455,000 followers on her Twitter account, some 120,500 followers on Instagram and more than one million likes on her Facebook destination.

Formerly ranked No. 1 in the world, Azarenka also has deals that include Nike, Citizen, Red Bull and Wilson.

According to Esurance, Azarenka will appear in marketing, social media and other activations that include personal appearances on the company's behalf.

"Esurance has a long history of supporting tennis, and partnering with one of the world's top female players will help amplify our presence in the tennis world."

Among its other tennis-related alliances, Esurance is the exclusive insurance sponsor of the U.S. Open and BNP Paribas Open through 2015 and has marketing deals with Robert and Michael Bryan, the world's top ranked doubles players; and Dmitry Tursunov, currently ranked among the Top 35 men's players in the world.
