September 17, 2025: His last name might be Polo, but he is all about tennis.
Calling him someone who “understands both the commercial landscape and the intricacies of professional tennis,” the ATP has named Eno Polo as its new CEO, effective immediately.
Polo succeeds Massimo Calvelli, who stepped down as CEO in June 2025 following more than five years in the position.
Polo, who will be based in the ATP’s London office, will oversee the ATP’s global operations and continue to drive OneVision — called a “transformative plan designed to grow the sport, elevate fan engagement, and deliver long-term value for players, tournaments, and partners across the Tour.”
A former pro tennis player, since 2021 he has served as a player representative on the ATP Board of Directors.
“Eno is a dynamic and accomplished leader who understands both the commercial landscape and the intricacies of professional tennis,” Andrea Gaudenzi, ATP Chairman said via the organization. “His tenure on the ATP Board has given him direct insight into the sport’s challenges and opportunities.
“This is an exciting time for tennis, with significant opportunities ahead amid a changing landscape. We are delighted to welcome Eno as CEO as we continue to advance the sport through our OneVision strategy.”
Last month, the ATP said a record $18.3 million would be distributed to players through profit sharing from the 2024 ATP Tour season.
The ATP said its 50-50 profit-sharing formula splits profits generated at ATP Masters 1000s — above on-site base prize money — equally between players and tournaments.
“(The) $18.3 million is a huge milestone,” said Gaudenzi, “For us, it’s proof that strengthening the premium product and aligning interests creates value. We’re proud to be strengthening our partnership and building a stronger, more sustainable ATP Tour.”
Polo was born and raised in Kenya and represented the Kenyan national team in Davis Cup competition, then embarked on an international business career. He has since held senior leadership roles at Nike, Juventus F.C., Havaianas, Global Brands Group and LeDap, among others.
“Tennis is at a transformative moment as a global sport and business,” Polo said via the ATP. “The opportunity that lies ahead is immense.
“Having had the privilege of working closely with players and tournaments, I know the power of collaboration. It’s an honor to step into this role as ATP CEO and help lead the organization in its next phase of growth.”
According to the ATP, “Reforms under OneVision have driven substantial increases at the ATP Masters 1000 level. The expansion to 96-player draws has increased earning opportunities for more players, widening the number of those able to make a sustainable living from tennis.
“It has also unlocked a wave of infrastructure investment, with Madrid, Rome, Cincinnati, Shanghai and Paris, among others, raising the bar with upgraded venues that have enhanced the player and fan experience and strengthened the long-term future of the sport.”
