Worldwide Strategy: NFL Global Markets Program Now Includes All 32 Teams

By Barry Janoff

May 20, 2025: For the second time this year, the NFL has expanded its Global Markets Program, today adding the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans.

The move means that for the first time, the league’s Global Markets Program, launched in 2022, includes all 32 teams.

That is up from 25 clubs across 19 markets in 2024 as the NFL “continues to prioritize global growth and connecting with more fans across markets around the world.”

Clubs are awarded rights for a five-year term through the program and during this period can pursue activities that are consistent with what they can do in their home domestic market, in their awarded international markets

The Bills and Bengals were awarded rights in Canada, the Titans in Ireland.

The Global Markets Program supports the NFL’s strategy to build a worldwide footprint as it expands its International games. The NFL in 2025 has scheduled International games that include Berlin, Dublin, London, Madrid and Sao Paulo.

A game in 2026 is scheduled for Melbourne.

“We’re thrilled to have all 32 clubs a part of the Global Markets Program in 2025,” Peter O'Reilly NFL evp-club business, major events and international, said via the league.

“League-wide club participation in the program underlines the strategic priority both the NFL and its teams share, to invest in global growth.s We continue to see strong momentum worldwide and look forward to bringing fans internationally closer to our game, together.”

In March, the NFL added  four new clubs and two new markets: Baltimore Ravens (granted rights in the U.K.), Green Bay Packers (granted rights across Germany, Ireland and the U.K.), Los Angeles Chargers (first team granted rights in Greece) and the Washington Commanders, which along with the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers were the first teams granted rights in the United Arab Emirates.

The NFL’s Global Markets Program is designed to have immediate and long-term effects.

The NFL's first regular season game in South America saw the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Green Bay Packers, 34–29, on Sept. 6, 2024.

Officials said the game and surrounding events had an economic return of $60 million.

The NFL said it has more than 35 million fans in Brazil.

The Titans said their entry into the Irish market coincides with a growing partnership between the two cities.

Earlier this year, the Nashville Convention and Visitor's Corporation launched a collaborative effort with Dublin and Aer Lingus Airlines to establish the first-ever direct flight between Nashville and Dublin.

They said this new route, operating four times a week, “offers increased accessibility and lays the foundation for greater visitation, business, and cultural exchange.”

The Titans said they are aligning with the city's broader marketing plans to promote Nashville and NFL football to the Irish audience through joint campaigns, live events and shared cultural narratives.

"Both Nashville and Ireland are deeply rooted in music, storytelling, and community pride. This partnership allows us to authentically connect with Irish fans while promoting the shared values and cultural bonds between our regions," Burke Nihill, Titans president and CEO, said via the team.

"We see this as a tremendous opportunity to grow our fan base, foster new relationships, and promote the best of Music City abroad."

In the future, the Titans said they plan to host youth football camps, cheer clinics, and music-driven events in Ireland, “mirroring the city's vibrant spirit and love for entertainment.”

"Nashville and Ireland have long shared a strong musical bond, and that connection is set to grow even deeper as the Tennessee Titans engage directly with Irish fans," Deana Ivey, Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. president and CEO, said via the organization.

"With the launch of a new direct flight and the expansion of the Titans fan base, our two cultures are more linked than ever. We look forward to sharing even more of our Southern hospitality and unmistakable magic of Music City."

The Bills already have a history with Canada, including the Bills Toronto Series, when the team played “home” games in Rogers Centre in Toronto, from 2008 through 2012.

The Bengals said their entry into the Global Markets Program “allows the Bengals to build brand awareness and fandom in Canada through engagement, marketing, digital and social media content, and NFL Flag development.”

"Canada has a great history and passion for football, and we are excited to join the Global Markets Program to further engage with and grow our strong Canadian fanbase," Elizabeth Blackburn, Bengals cirector of strategy and engagement, said via the team.

"Growing the game globally is an important priority for the NFL. We are excited to be part of the Global Markets Program's expansion to include all 32 teams and look forward to broadening the reach of Who Dey Nation in Canada."
